One of their best albums as a whole piece imo. Great theme and great intro. A proper power/heavy metal album.

The classics are ''Excalibur'', ''The Round Table (Forever)'' and ''Morgane Le Fay''.
As for the other songs: the opener is very good, ''Tristan's Fate'' is another anthem, ''Lancelot'' follows in the same vein (with my favorite type of choruses of the band), a strong short fast rocker in the form of ''Morderd's Song'', ''The Final War'' is a good Priest-esque rocker and ''Avalon'' is an awesome song to end the album with (that chorus and melodies!). ''Parcival'' is also a very good bonus song. The two songs I didn't mention are a nice change of pace in a typical power metal album full of fast songs, although I'm not a fan of them.

The album is full of great choruses and amazing riffs.

Best album of 1999 along with Gamma Ray's Power Plant for me.

Excalibur is the only full album of theirs that I've heard as of now, and I have to say that it's quite amazing after 3-4 listens! I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of their stuff. Not really sure why I didn't check them out sooner.

Are you kidding me? The released back to back albums at this age?

Only Iron Maiden have done something similar with their 2026 -2028 releases, but still that was 2 years (actually 1 1/2) interval

*Another difference was that the Maiden albums were rated Masterpieces, the equivalent of “11” in the scale of 5 :D

Great. :ok: I think you will like them.

If I have to recommend other albums: 1995, 1996, 1998(!), 2003, 2020, 2022.
