Sorry for the overexuberance, but when one of your favorite artists does something unexpected and completely exceeds your expectations with it it’s hard to not be giddy. Kind of like when Iron Maiden put out AMOLAD.

Lynch has given us hints of this over the years, with Sacred Groove in 1993 having a lot of classic instrumental tracks, and he’s peppered a few throughout his other albums; but this one’s on a completely different level in terms of the variety and layering and technical skill involved. It’s really well composed, and great from start to finish.
 
Iron Maiden -Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

Solo orgasm. I believe* the only time that we have 4 solos in a Maiden song. Plus alternating from one guitarist to the other with frenetic rhythms & inspired bridges in the middle.
The absolute peak of Maiden's Book of Sol(o)s & a career showcase. I can never get enough of it.
