I am not playing any video games currently, but I am playing this recent video of @Detective Beauregard's video game metal cover band opening for Galactic Empire:
Kudos to you for having the fortitude. That game is freaking hard for me! I was talking to a good friend of mine the other day (the one who got me into OG Hollow Knight), but he rarely games anymore due to having young kids. I asked him how far he got into Silksong and he casually said “oh I beat it.” Like damn, I have to git gud! Also went back to Silksong. I did the Dark Souls thing and if one area seems impassible simply go another way. I was stuck in the little cave in which you have to escape an eruption after beating a few flying enemies. I was either struggling with the last few bugs or with the platforming on the way up. Found the double jump and problem solved. I opened up most of the map, found all the tube travel thingies, all the bellway stations, cleared a bunch of side quests and found some goodies. Some were kinda sad. In the original Hollow Knight there is a bug that is always singing and happy to mine away. Later in the game when you revisit she is consumed by the corruption. In Silksong there's a little bug you gamble with and has a pair of dice. If you revisit it you find it has died and you can take its dice.
I am now stuck in four separate battles. The Wailing Mother in the Slab, The fight to get the Conductor's song (got the other two), Some giant dude in Bilewater and the cook in Sinner's Road. I need to pick one and focus on that until I break through.

He also recommended Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, so I’ve been playing through it (thankfully a far more merciful game than Silksong). Great platforming and the ability to adjust many facets of difficulty for a custom experience for wusses like me. I recommend it.
Frostpunk will absolutely wreck you with those disease spirals if you're not careful, healthcare is definitely clutch in that game. Nice work on clearing New Home though, that's a solid accomplishment! I totally feel you on the Silksong boss gauntlet, sometimes you just gotta pick one and bash your head against it until something clicks. That gambling bug story is brutal though, why do these games have to hurt us like that? If I had to pick, I'd say focus on the Conductor's song fight since you're so close to having all three, getting that completion feels great. So took a break from Diablo II and Kingdom Come. Played Frostpunk like it was my job LOL. Cleared the New Home and The Arks scenarios. The Refugees is next. I was doing fine until everyone started getting sick. I need to focus on health care on my next attempt. That and speed up coal research.

Damn, that reminds me that I’ve been meaning to go back and play Gears 4 and 5. I got into the series maybe 5 years ago with the remastered original, but I recall liking 4 and 5 more than the others. Isn’t there a new one coming out soon?I am an average gamer at best. My biggest achievement was beating the OG Gears of Wars Trilogy on the hardest difficulty. Gears 4 and 5 i did them on Hard rather than Nightmare. Aside from that I'm a normal difficulty type of guy. I have had to "git gud" for several games and even then it's not enough.
That’s a great way to look at it. I’ve never been particularly skilled at platformers, but I still very much enjoy them. At least Silksong and other modern side scrollers don’t have time limits like the Mario games, though. That infuriates me lol.Soooo, I'm definitely of the mind that if I can do it, anyone can. Just takes patience and practice. I was telling my brother when I reach a boss fight in Silksong, at first it seems random and impossible. Then I get a little further, then I realize I've made it a little further which is encouraging and I just think, "It's a matter of time now." Then, suddenly, it's like the Matrix, I see everything and it is almost too easy. Quite infuriating at times, to be honest lol

Yeah, I am NOT good with time limits either, very stressful. That's why I haven't bothered getting good at Fallout 1. Honestly I'm hoping they get remade, remastered, rebooted like Oblivion and Fallout 3.That’s a great way to look at it. Did you fight the Act II final boss whilst infected before getting the Witch Crest? There's a secret ending attached to that. Thanks! Yeah, while doing The Arks, I had to refuse helping New Manchester and taking in more refugees so as to no t strain the healthcare system. In a future play through I do want to save everyone, but I'll have to upgrade to infirmareis. I remember there was a way to get kids to become healthcare assistants, but haven't been given the option recently. I keep passing the Safe Jobs Law. Maybe I need to pass the All Jobs Law pertaining to child labor, maybe then I'll get the option for the apprentice law.
Thanks for the advice! I did exactly that and went off on a tear lol. Before doing the Conductor's Song gauntlet, I tracked Chakra to her Master's final resting place. Because of that she showed up during the guantlet and helped out! Unfortunately I got hit by a post defeat cheap shot where their dead body still hurts you. When I got back I was credited with the kill, but Chakra was gone. No idea if there was some sort of see you later dialogue.
After that I did the Broodmother in the Slab, the Chef in Sinner's Road, gathered and delivered all the food to the guy in the citadel to get the pin oil, bought my house and furnished it in Bellhart, found the Surgeon's Key in Whiteward, navigated The Mist to the Exhaust Organ and dealt with the Phantom.... I think that's it so far lol. OH! Also got the Witch crest. So right now I traveled to the boss fight in Bilewater. Hopefully I stay in the flow and deal with it quickly.
After that I'll get the remaining fleas, fight the boss in Whiteward and the first Sinner in the Slab. Then, I think, I'll be good for Act III LOL
I did not LOL. I was aware there was a secret ending with no death no heal. I am NOWHERE near that good hahaha. There are so many things in certain games I don't do as I am fully aware of my skill set. No death, no damage runs are a huge no, as are speed runs, no upgrade runs, etc. I'm usually good with just getting through the vanilla route just fine.Did you fight the Act II final boss whilst infected before getting the Witch Crest? There's a secret ending attached to that.
If you haven't already, make sure you get the remaining fleas and the flea caravan to its final destination. You'll get an upgrade to make everything remaining much easier.I am still wondering around Pharloom doing clean up. I restarted the automaton sentinel, it's showed up a few times fighting off corrupted pilgrims. Found the room where the spider looking things hide and detroyed the silk so they don't show up any more, also went back to the room where I could get the flying automatons as a red weapon. Went back to Eva in Atlas to upgrade a few crests, finally got through Bilewater aaaand... Stuck again lol. I wanted to defeat the boss in Whiteward, but looks like I need to get good real quick. There's a bench there so I can get some reps in, but nothing seems to be working. I am not focusing well on the fight and keep getting hit due to being careless. Sooo I decided to keep moving forward and play the song, fight Lace again, etc. Etc. Let's see what happens
