Nicko McBrain (IRON MAIDEN), Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX), Dave Lombardo (SLAYER), Ray Luzier (KORN), Steven Adler (GUNS N' ROSES), Mike Portnoy (ADRENALINE MOB, DREAM THEATER) are among the drummers who took part in the Bonzo Bash NAMM Jamm 2013, the ultimate tribute to late LED ZEPPELIN drummer John Henry "Bonzo" Bonham, which took over Anaheim, California on Thursday, January 24 at the Observatory. Video footage of the performance can be seen below.

Bonzo Bash founder and S.U.N. guitarist Brian Thomas Tichy (formerly of WHITESNAKE) recently said, "Bonzo Bash is a drummer's playground. There's plenty of toys and our parents taught us to play well with others.

"It is a relatively simple concept. When I first thought of this, the idea seemed too cool NOT to try. You get a John Bonham replica drum kit (courtesy of Natal Drums) complete with Paiste gong and tympani, up front, center stage, and have each drummer perform their favorite LED ZEPPELIN song with a house band (THE MOBY DICKS).

"It's such a unique night, seeing how all these great drummers approach the same drum set making it their own! And THE MOBY DICKS hold their own as a true force to be reckoned with! There is structure, and within the structure, there is freedom; freedom, groove, and volume! The combination makes the pace and vibe of this show like a backyard party right next to an annual wildebeest river crossing! John Bonham deserves it! His right foot alone deserves it!! Bonzo Bashes are always the ultimate Bonzo tribute show and that's the fact, Jack!"

All I can say is SUPER SWEET!

:funnypost:
Completely plausible, by the way.

Steve Harris said (I believe on That Metal Show) that there would definitely be another Iron Maiden album, so I wouldn't fret too much about that. Obviously he is focusing for the moment on his British Lion project/tour, as well as the upcoming Maiden tour of Europe this summer. He's a busy dude. I would not be surprised if the boys wait until next year to begin discussing concrete plans for a new album.

Oh he's always ready to start. It's just that the universe needs to be ready to hear what he comes up with.

This is getting worrying. It's the second interview in which Nicko refuses to say anything about a new album. :S

I think he doesn't want fans to get hyped, considering there's at least two years remaining for a new album, not a surprise.

I'm sure Ariana is right : I've read several statements from Steve and Rod about the new album being released in 2014 (and don't ask me to produce a proof). I remember being terribly upset by the four year-gap beetween the last and the next, as I was thinking at the time that this delay before TFF was just a kind of accident.
I sometimes wonder if Nicko is a reliable source about Maiden. While TFF was already written, he said that they needed more time to compose and that the album wouldn't be out before 2011. Maybe this was a joke the journalist didn't understand, but I definetly read this.

I'de be glad to hear the album in 2014, that'd not only mean hearing the album one year before, but that their retirement would be nearer. It may sound odd but I'm interested in their retirement since it'd mean the guys' moving on to other projects.

Well, Steve talked about Maiden doing a pair of records, so, I think retirement might not be that near...

Building suspense, maybe? It'll be treated as the greatest ever album if everyone thinks it's not going to happen ;)

Really?, a pair of records --did he say that recently? Do you mean TFF & another? --or another two albums, besides TFF i.e. album 16 & 17? I really hope 2014 in any case, as 2015 will be five years. Either way, if one surfaces in 2014/15, that's got to be it. There's no way we'll see another album 3, 4, or 5 years after this, I don't think.

I have to say Nicko is looking in fine fettle for 60 years old. He just looks like he's having so much fun, still, at his kit.
