What platform are you listening to? On Amazon music he sounds great. Why is Bruce so low in the mix?!

I wished it was repeated more times - this song's chorus should have been repeated more than the chorus of TWOTW.Great, non-repetitive chorus
I wouldnt say the solo is "Awesome" but by Janick standards its great. I was a previous Janick "hater". He has come a long way in his album solos IMHO. Now if he could just polish his live solos a little more.......Stratego could really fit into the Brave New World album. Somehow it reminds me of The Mercenary.
This is way better than The Writing On The Wall. The guitar solo is awesome.
I could even imagine Blaze Bayley singing it...
Initial thoughts after 4 listens:
- FUCKING GUITAR PLAYING THE FUCKING VOCAL MELODY JUST STOP IT JANICK JUST STOP IT!
Again though, why? Rawness can be a quality. Look at Blackmore. They are very similar in that regard. I would not want Blackmore's aggressive solos to sound polished.I wouldnt say the solo is "Awesome" but by Janick standards its great. I was a previous Janick "hater". Where Bruce sings "Give me an ultimatum", it sounds like "Give me an old tomato" and this is how I shall be singing along to the song henceforth.
''Sinister'' is indeed the right word. It is different from the melody of the chorus, which is a nice contrast.Sinister is the perfect way to describe that riff; I was searching for the words to describe how it sounded, to my ears anyway, and you hit upon it for me.
Me too. Now can't even think of it being anything other than old tomatoWhere Bruce sings "Give me an ultimatum", it sounds like "Give me an old tomato" and this is how I shall be singing along to the song henceforth.
Yes. Nice trick.Do they do a little disguise on the solo, i.e. it comes in where there should be a chorus?
It reminds me of this Sabaton song.
Indeed. The Man Of The Match award is waiting for him.Nicko is on fire.
That's alright. There ought to be something fitting you more among the album's other seven track. Or six - if you didn't like The Writing on the Wall either. Smaller odds then, but odds never the less.I don’t like it at all.
Yes and yes. Their show at Sabaton Open Air in 2012 is one of the best shows I've been to. Ah, memories.Their best song... And a million times better in Swedish.
