I guess it all has to come down to respecting whoever's around you and if they're seated or not
This is true but how far does respect go? Either you ruin their night or they ruin yours. It aint nice knowing that you are pissing someone off so I suppose thats why I never go for seating.

I stand at Maiden because everyone in seats stands at Maiden. I sit at Dream Theater because everyone in seats sits down at Dream Theater. All depends on your section and the band you're seeing.

That said, here's some inlighting:

Hold the phone, 375 US dollars? Thats £263. My last Maiden ticket for floor in an arena in 2011 was around £50 (it was 36 or 56, cant remember). Is that standard for big acts? That is fuckin shockin!!

Well it's what I spent a few days before the show. I may have over spent slightly but floor tickets at Mandalay bay for sold events are expensive. $300 + is pretty standard.

In Portugal we have this saying: "A tua liberdade acaba onde começa a dos outros". Something like: "Your freedom ends where someone else's begins". Although it sounds better in portuguese, i think you get the meaning ;)

$118? For the floor? That's killer!! That's about what what we've paid for middle bowl at the forum ...

Yeah, we paid $118.

I paid the equivalent of US$ 85 to Premium Floor (the area closer to the stage), and i paid half ticket because i'm a student. The full ticket would be around US$ 140. In Brazil, with a lot less purchasing power.

The floor area furthest from the stage here, however, would be around US$ 58. Full ticket. The venue that Maiden will play here doesn't have seats area, it's a complete outdoor.

About the seating, as someone said before, you need to be polite. If the WHOLE venue has only seat options, then you can argue (like in a football/soccer match), but, if the venue had floor options and you choose (at free will or forced) to go for a seat area, you must respect if people there wants to sit. It may doesn't make sense to you or me, but makes to other people. Everything can be solved with conversation, maybe someone in other chair in the same sector is willing to trade or something like that...but just standing in a seat area it's rude
