What does on do if told to sit down during maiden...i was..but dont know why....its maiden...right?...
Who sits during maiden...oh dear..

This is a tough one to answer.

For me personally I will always try to get standing tickets for maiden but over the years (seen maiden on every tour since my first on the X-Factour) I have unfortunately had to put up with seated tickets.

Now, it's all about respect to be honest as some people do prefer to sit and enjoy the music. Their are quite a few bands I'll prefer to sit and watch rather than stand. When I've had to put up with seated tickets at maiden I usually go with the flow and if everyone around me stands up then I take it as free reign to do the same. If people around me stay seated then I'll sit and chill and still enjoy maiden. I would hate to ruin someone's experience behind me just because I couldn't get a standing ticket and felt the need to stand up in the seated area and block someone's view behind me.

This is exactly why I sat during the last Dream Theater concert I went to. Don't think I've ever been to a Maiden show where people were sitting though (except Vinnie Paul who spent the whole show sitting and eating pretzels).

To be fair in all the times I've seen maiden I've only had seating tickets about 4 times and one of them was the AMOLAD tour and that was the only time I stayed seated for most of the gig. Other times everyone has stood up in the seating section. I actually enjoyed sitting down and taking in the whole of the AMOLAD album live. Loved that gig.

Funny you mention Dream theater as they are my second favourite band right behind maiden and I've seen them quite a few times. Apart from once every time I've seen them I've got seated tickets. I just love to sit back with a beer in hand and just experience a dream theater concert. Of course theirs always the odd song you jump up to but for the most part I prefer to sit and watch dream theater.

I have seats for Montreal, and I'm mildly okay with it - not least because I have a gimp ankle, which was made fairly more gimp by my concert experience in Maiden (so worth it, though).

There should be a stand at your seat option! These days, that's what my preference is. Sure, you can end up a bit further from the stage, but being super close and crowded isn't super fun either.

Sorry but no, if your in the seated section you should be mindful of others and not just assume you can stand up when you feel like it but also have a seat for when you don't. If the people behind you bought seated tickets because they want to sit and watch the band you shouldn't stand and obscure their view.

I'm standing unless they say something. I've been to hundreds of arena shows and have never ever once been told to sit.

Obviously the shows dictate that - Maiden shows everyone stands, some shows they don't. I'm always mindful of that of course.

Well that attitude of "well I'm stabding unless someone says anything" is pretty rude in my book. Your not the only one there to enjoy the concert. A bit of respect goes a long way. Of course if everyone else around you jumps up and most remain standing that's fine but if your one of the only ones standing in your section then that's rude.

You could be ruining someone's concert experience. What if the person sitting behind you wasn't able to stand for health reasons. They may not be comfortable with confrontation so might not say anything.

If I was in a seated section of a concert that I purposely wanted to sit and chill with a beer and watch rather than jump around I'd most certainly tell anyone in front of me to sit down. I'd do it politely but if they start giving me a load of mouth and don't take any notice I'd make sure they sat down, if you know what I mean

If you wanna stand by a standing ticket. If they are sold out tough luck.

Well, as I said, it depends on what folks around me are doing. If everyone else is standing, I'll do that. If they are sitting, I have no problems doing that either. I'm not going to be that one dumbass ruining everyone else's time.

Its a tricky one. The only trouble I ever had was at Prince. Could only get seating tickets. Stood the whole time. Was politely asked to sit at one point, to which I replied "but its Prince." The folks behind agreed and stood up and we all danced the night away. Guess I got lucky but I mean, sitting during Prince? Bitch, please.

I was mortified when first seeing the brief tour schedule in North America. I always attend the outdoor arenas for maiden in order to get lawn tickets: around $75.00 and avoid any seats/sitting!! No way I can sit even for a second at a maiden show.
But no outdoor shows here in the states . WhAt to do? Well of course the answer was to get floor tickets. At $375.00 American dollars. .. Worth every cent!!:shred::shred:

I guess it all has to come down to respecting whoever's around you and if they're seated or not

Seeing Iron Maiden in an indoor venue was a very welcome change of pace. The sound was so much better than at the outdoor amphitheater I've always seen them at.

Hold the phone, 375 US dollars? Thats £263. My last Maiden ticket for floor in an arena in 2011 was around £50 (it was 36 or 56, cant remember). Is that standard for big acts? That is fuckin shockin!!
