My Iron Maiden project, please read!

Hello!
My name is Pontus and I would love if any of you Maidenfans out there to help me with answering two qustions of mine! You see, I'm studying my last year at upper secondary school here in Sweden! (Don't know if "upper secondary school" Is the right term, but I'm 18 years old so I guess you know what kind of school I'm doing my last year at  :) )
Anyway, I'm doing my examination during this year and I've choosen to work about a band that I first heard when I was 6-7 years old and still listens to very much today. You probably know what band I'm talking about, of course it's IRON MAIDEN! And my main question for this examination Is "Why did Iron Maiden grow to such a big band?" I'd also like to know why they are that big today!
Please, give me your thoughts and ideas about theese two questions and It would help me so much!

First off: Välkommen till forumet, jag hoppas att du kommer trivas här

I recommend you to watch The Early Days documentary, the question is answered as the whole documentary is all about how Steve Harris started a band who only played in pubs to begin with, all the way to the time Piece of Mind was released in 1983.

Hello!
Yes, I guess I could have a look at that documentary, but I'm allso reading a book called "Run to the hills", by Mick Wall and that book has all the information I seem to need, but ofcourse, it's allways funnier to look at a film then reading a book so I will check up on it!

My opinion as this is happens to me

1 )  Long time or True or Loyal Maiden fans are proud of the band. 
We go home and tell our wife our husband our boyfriends girlfriends, children,
We go to work and tell our colleagues..
How beautiful the music of this band is.

This makes them excited too and curious..  And when they of Iron Maiden, they will think of you.

Pontus, the next time Iron Maiden comes to your place, I can gurantee, your friends will all remember you, and start to call you just because when they hear Maiden, they remember you, and they are so happy for you.

2) Iron Maiden fans, save up money, really really work hard to earn money, so they can share their happiness with their love ones.
I never ever take a plane, I never bring my wife to honeymoon.
But I really save up money and bring her to Australia , both of us.. so I can see Maiden live, and I want to share it with her..

You can see adults man bring wife and kids, you can see adult woman bring children and family, I think there definitely are three generation of grandparents to grandchildren too in the crowd.
Maiden fans are so respectful, we go wild with happiness but we take care of our fellow fans, so it is ok to bring families and kids to Maiden show.

3) Iron Maiden is coming to Singapore, I dont have much money but I really save and scrimp, to ensure, I get Standing Front section ( PEN A ) for my love ones.
I want to share my happiness and love of Maiden with them...

I think there are a lot to write.. but this is a few example... 
Its just Maiden fans are special...  We are so very proud of the achievement of the band members..
Its like when our family member do well in life, we see them happy and healthy, we are also happy
the same when Maiden fans see Maiden.
