I'm still somewhat surprised how quickly Wasted Years became relatively "unwanted" classic, given how it's been played rather sparingly when compared to The Number of the Beast, The Trooper & Fear of the Dark. Personally, I find it perhaps the most pleasant one of the selection above and after Run to the Hills being a popular closer between 1999-2004, Hallowed be Thy Name & Running Free each closing for almost two full tours in a row in 2006-2008 & 2010-2013, not to even mention the encore representation Sanctuary has got over the decades, I find it rather odd how Wasted Years as a closer for two tours in a row is suddenly such a big deal and, somehow, particularly lazy move.
It's different when the song is a setlist regular like Hallowed, the others and Running Free/Sanctuary until the 2000's. At least for me. And the whole song sounds like it's lost its powers, going through the motions and slower.

I love all these songs really but which one do you have no desire to see or hear live ever again? If any

Aces High, especially when it is played as an encore. My ears!!!

Fear of the Dark, closely followed by Iron Maiden are strong contenders too. That being said, when they play them live and I witness the audience’s reaction, my love for those songs is (kind of) rekindled.

Those people deserve a medal!

Man, I'd love to meet Steve at some point and tell him that's my favorite album. He'd probably have a stroke or something lol
Well it's certainly not bad, imo Maiden never released crappy albums. But it´s more near the bottom of my album ranking.

The Trooper. It's obviously a great song, but at this point I've heard it so many times that it doesn't do much to me when I hear it. There are other overplayed classics for sure, but I feel like they are more dynamic than Trooper, which makes them more engaging, I guess.

I don't ever find some of the best songs from my favorite band of all time "boring". Weird concept I know, right?

BTW, I don't hate you - just this poll. :D

I love how the poll and the thread title are opposites lol

Including the self titled song is kinda cheating. I never had the feeling that it is a particularly popular song. It's the only song that never misses a setlist and the one with the big Eddie reveal, but musically? Are there really people who are like "oh boy, here comes one of my favorites!" when Iron Maiden starts?

So, most boring is that one. Least boring? Fear Of The Dark. No matter how many times I've heard it, the intro in live versions is always magical.
I couldn't agree more. Iron Maiden, the song, is the more overated and overplayed song in metal history!

Aw, C'mon. It serves it's purpose. It lets the jaded fans here know it's time to go home so they don't have to suffer through the "boring" encore...
I know it serves its purpose, with the bass solo and everything, giving a good atmosphere for Big Eddie. But I simply don't find the song funny anymore. It's certainly the most boring classic for me. In fact, the only really boring one, since I like all the others.
