For me the biggie is the Bruce falsetto in the middle of Sea of Madness.
Apart from his screams, I can't think of one other part where he sings in falsetto. He always belts when going for the high notes.
The falsetto in Sea Of Madness sticks out and fits the song. He's developed his singing during his solo career, for sure.
The shift in the second solo of The Great Unknown is never not an awkward moment
It's weird, but I like to have such a unique moment in a song. Something different.
The middle part of Fear is the Key. Sounds like they were smoking something.
Added to make the whole song sounding even more Purple. Wild moment.
The whole last songs on dance of death.
Double bass in a Maiden song is kind of weird, but Journeyman is like Prodigal Son.
The apparition. From start to finish. It's not necessarily terrible, just weird. I can't think of another band or song that sounds like it and feel like everyone's alright with that.
Is Apparition that different in feel from some other songs on the album. Or parts. The rock style from the early 90's albums. It's weird that there's no chorus for a short rocker. Atypical song for Steve, for sure.
Wasting Love
Chains of Misery
Weekend Warrior
2 A.M.
Lightning Strikes Twice
Mother of Mercy
Songs since the 90's with acoustic parts and a bit different in feel don't sound weird. In the 80's, yes. 2AM, Weekend Warrior. Wasting Love is not that different either imo, from the previous album's title track. The choruses of Chains and Lightning aren't typical, yeah. Mother Of Mercy? And the others I omitted, not really sure.
Satellite 15... Obviously
The second part of it could be a Bruce solo piece, but I can see the first part as a shorter intro to some extent, with some modulations thinking of Ides Of March or for the Reunion era in general.
