Good point!  When we get to Death Magnetic, we'll have to fight to keep some of them in the Top 10.

I am SHOCKED and AMAZED at the hate for Stone Cold Crazy. Not only do I think it's a damn good cover, but I KNOW many people like it. It was actually the song I most expected to survive this round.

Unforgiven II, So What, Last Caress ... the last 2 of which I've played many times with my band, more than we've played any 'real' Metallica song.

I like that song, but it doesn't belong in any top 10. However, I think its predecessor does. Too bad it didn't survive Load and ReLoad. Just like SMX (according to one of hiis posts in this thread), I think Sad But True and The Unforgiven are the finest songs on the Black Album.

I don't mind going out on a limb and saying that the song 'Some Kind of Monster' is an excellent song.  Whether intentionally or not (probably not) the reduced production and no solo actually give the song a creepy, dangerous feel.  I cannot explain it, but it works for me.  Think of Maiden's 'No Prayer for the Dying' where some have commented that the raspy vocals (albeit unintentional) actually help the mood of the song.  That's the best analogy I can think of.

The last two songs have excellent lyrics, too bad the band butchered the production and Lars forbid solos.
