I could only vote for eight Load songs. So I don't have enough votes, but if I had more, the ninth would go to Hero. I don't remember it being notably worse than the eight that I selected.

2X4, Cure, Mama, Thorn, Ronnie

I like Hero of the Day so won't be voting for that quite yet. 2X4, Cure, Thorn and Ronnie are all songs that I need to dig into my brain and try and remember how they sound - which must be a bad sign....

Sorry James, I appreciate you had a country phase but Mama Said shouldn't have been on there IMO.

Shite, missed for a few days and already

Eliminated:
Mama Said
Torn Within
?

Good riddance of 2 x 4 though, always reminds me of that cringeworthy Pantera track... :innocent:

Anyway, voted for So Maybe Richard, The Bonfire Ditty, Sheep Shit, Annie Wilkes and that Chad Kroeger track.

Eliminated:
Through the Never
Of Wolf and Man
Ain't My Bitch
The House Jack Built
Bleeding Me

Reload and the bonus songs join the game.

More like what the fuck Through the Never and Wolf?

Reload and S&M going down hard in this round for me...

Voting: I Disappear (bleh) -Human and No Leaf Clover (could have been good tracks, shame they never did studio versions of these songs without the symphony orchestra on top, but as it is, it's two votes) then - Fixxxer, Attitude, Low Man, Prince, Bad Seed, Carpe, Slither....All unmemorable songs for me. If you'd ask me how any of these songs went I wouldn't be able to tell you, except I might be able to hum the chorus of Carpe Diem Baby...that's not enough to save it though.

Off ReLoad I voted only against Slither (really the only bad song there, as it's just an inane Enter Sandman rip-off) and Carpe Diem Baby. Still love that album.

Slither is awesome. Reminds me of Alice in Chains. Reload is pretty good on the whole, but Better Than You is cringe, and Attitude is one of the most forgettable songs Metallica have done.

Can we go a few rounds before moving on to the next few albums? These rounds are getting excruciatingly crammed with songs...
Yeah that's the plan. This album will probably run 3 rounds or so. I was originally not going to add Reload this round but there would have been like 12 songs, which is not enough at this stage. It didn't help though that 16 songs came in this round so there is some trimming that we need to do.

Eliminated:
Through the Never
Of Wolf and Man
The House Jack Built

:goodbye:

Voted for everything on ReLoad except for the first four tracks + Where the Wild Things Are. Also didn't vote for No Leaf Clover.

4 votes for Devil's Dance already? :wtf:

I think the quantity of songs in the ReLoad era is to blame here.

Edit: Whoops, didn't see Collin's post explaining the same thing.

My sentiments exactly with the first one and the third one there. But if Sheep Shit had been eliminated in the first round, it would be still too late :p

I don't love the whole glorifying hunting theme either but it's a really well written song imo. Super catchy.

The whole "back to the primitive" macho image of the song annoys me, combined with the chorus vocal melody it makes it really hard for me to take it seriously. Also never cared for that solo. But IRYO :)

ReLoad isn't bad, by far better than the previous two albums. Still not something I'd ever voluntarily listen to though. It starts off pretty strong with a few standout tracks (Fuel, Devil's Dance) but then there's a ton of forgettable tracks toward the end. There's at least a good variety of material on these albums, but it still doesn't justify two 70 minute albums. You could maybe do a single 50 minute disc.
