This past Wednesday, April 28th, VADER played a show in Kyiv, Ukraine. Prior to their performance, the band's Polish record label, Empire Records, was sent the following email:

"The Christian society from Kyiv (Ukraine) is worried about the arriving of satanic band Vader to our sacred land. It is not desirable and in case of their arriving radical actions will be held for prevention of satanic uproar!"

Having said that, it's still pretty silly to ban bands from playing countries because they're heavy metal. What's the point?

What's wrong about beeing satanic?

Some woreship the thing that they call "God", wonder what that is, and some woreship the "Devil". I think both are wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the gig, I don't know if it was cancelled but if it was that's fucking crap.
 
I'm glad people are taking it seriously. Shows how good it is!

Cancelling all metal gigs because of some band's lyrics is pretty stupid at the best of times. There's no real excuse for it other than closed-mindedness.

Just checked their site. The gig was not cancelled. Apparently the band said it was even a good gig!

Metal IMO, if anything, is the voice of the people who've been ignored for too long. That's why it's loud. It seldom has anything to do with religion, but often with the real evil of the society, "hippocracy". The lyrics of "Virus" sum it up very nicely.
 
This topic gives me a great idea. Lets all get millions of huge amps, millions of guitars, take em to the nearest church, and play iron maiden songs all day long.
