Megadeth

I like both Cryptic Writings and Risk for what they are (just like I like Load and ReLoad). Both are overhated and probably ranked 6/7th in the discography for me.

The World Needs a Hero is dogshit and The System Has Failed is mostly amazing, probably the last good record they've done. Everything since then has either been pretty ok with maybe 2 great songs at most or absolute dogshit (looking at you TH1RT3EN and Super Collider).

The world needs a hero has some really good moment. And yes the system has failed is like it came when nobody expected and album like that. Then yes there are agqin a bunch of albums that is constant meh. I founded the sick the dyinh and the dead enjoyable more than the last one

Mostly agree, though I’m a big fan of Endgame as well.

The self-titled has a lot of cool music on it, but the lyrics are embarrassingly juvenile.

I have to revisit some of the albums that i dont listen often. the world needs a hero i like a few songs but its way better and fresh than cryptic writtings and risk.
 
I'm just saying, I've been chasing The Four Horsemen at a Metallica show and haven't seen it in 16 shows. Megadeth meanwhile started cycling Mechanix into their opening sets for Maiden. So, it'll be awfully funny if I see Megadeth play Mechanix during my first show for them before I ever see Metallica do The Four Horsemen.

If I see Megadeth play Mechanix and Ride The Lightning during their 8 song opening set at Maiden in 10 days I will actively point and laugh at Dave. Also, I'll be pissed because Megadeth has songs that are actually good.

I think TSHF is one of their best "later" albums, as the first half of it smacks you in the face and the second half is mostly good. I also think UA, Endgame, Dystopia, and the last one are solid. What aren't solid are Risk, TWNAH, 13, Supercollider, and TSTDATD.

I'd take Cryptic Writings over TWNAH any day. Risk would actually be a listenable album if Dave had even a halfway decent voice; outside of Prince of Darkness, the hilarious Crush 'Em, and the two Time tracks, I can't bear to listen to it.

I also love A Secret Place, but I'm probably in the minority.
