Dear Maiden fans,

we are all very excited that Maiden are going to release a new studio album this year, and that they have already announced the first tour dates.
Certainly everybody on this board wants to see Maiden on the next tour. I know I want to, and I know I will.
Now, Maiden has had a somewhat controversial tour schedule lately. We are all sorry for the many American fans who were deprived of seeing Maiden live during the DoD tour, since only two venues were played. We are also sorry for the Australians who hadn't had a Maiden tour in donkeys years.
However, complaining about this here will get you nowhere. If you feel you must complain, write Maiden a letter. Complaining to other fans is totally pointless, and even if you start a thread that gets 50 replies which say "I agree, Maiden should tour the US" is pointless. This will have absolutely no effect on Maiden's management, even if they read this. Maiden know they have fans in the US, but they have many more fans in Europe. So Europe gets the priority. South America and Japan must also be considered, since they have many fans there too. There are factors involved in choosing the places Maiden tour. For example, the BNW tour was apparently not very successful in the US, so Maiden chose not to play that much during the DoD tour. There may have been observations that American fans are much more fond of the earlier material, so Maiden may choose not to play as much there if the majority of material on the setlist is from the recent years. That is all basic logic. So, even if you think it is unfair, and even if it really is, give us all a break and

Please, quit complaining about Maiden's touring schedule.

Thanks.

Iron Maiden didn’t visit Australia for over 13 years. Australian fans have reasons to complain. Lately I saw a petition about it. People could sign it. The best place to gather attention for it is a forum[b/] like this one.

You say: If something is basic logic, one should not complain on a forum about it. Strange way of reasoning, isn't it? How do you think Communism was defeated? Or how did Revolutions start? Not on forums? Right...

We should not end up like this, however:

- They've arrested Brian!
- This calls for immediate discussion!

I never said Australians or Americans don't have the right to complain. Fine, let them start a petition, but please let that be it. I'm just tired of reading the same complaints in post after post. In my opinion, that is complaining to others, who either agree with that or show complete apathy. That has no constructive effect at all and tends to become annoying. That's all I wanted to say.

I understand it, no prob.

Dude, have a little compassion for people who's favorite band never plays in their town...or anywhere near it. Part of what people want to be able to do on an online community like this is precisely to share their frustrations -- and these frustrations are not idiosyncratic.

I can understand if you are tired to hearing about such frustrations, but is it so hard for you to simply skip over such posts and let people continue their own conversation?

You do not have to comment on everything you know! [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

I hope this isn't an indication of what's to come when you become moderator: posts getting erased because you are tired of the topic. ::

Come on! They never played Ulan-Bator or Katmandu! That's a disgrace! ::

On a more serious note, this constant whining is really annoying. Maiden do what they want, and you can complain about it 'til you're blue in the face that it won't change anything. So please, I'd like to see more constructive posts than just this... I agree with Mac here, we should be complaining but I do think that we need to limit this to one thread only. I'm sure that if Perun lived in Australia, he would complain non-stop so perhaps you could bear others in mind and be a bit more tolerant [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/cool.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"B)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"cool.gif\" /]

I must disagree

1)
I don´t think that Japan is place for Maiden: they never played there for big audiences or extra many dates. personally I don´t know why Maiden prefer Japan (maybe they just like the country) and can´t take a little trip downunder to Australia.

2)
I think this is the new direction of management (remember its last statement about touring = fewer dates and bigger venues). every second (summer or "festival") tour is oriented for US (Brave New World Tour, Give Me Ed..., Ozzfest).
winter/spring tours (DoD tour) are located in Europe (number of well-established indoor arenas) and South America (for its warm weather conditions so they can play stadiums)

Facts, figures, sources? No? Then I am afraid that I must conclude that you talk from a place where the sun don't shine.

look
the biggest Maiden show was in 2004 for a cca 16000 fans. i think its nothing special comparing to cca 1 and half million people per tour, dont you think?
