Funny how sentiment for songs can change over time. A couple of months ago, I'd have sworn Alexander was a million times better than The Trooper but right now I can relate to The Trooper much better than I can to Alex. So my vote goes to Trooper.

Isn't it nice to be able to enjoy songs with a new feeling of appreciation? Yeah, I'm looking at you, fixed-rank-lovers.

I can see what people like in the Trooper, but I just really don't rate it that highly, even on Piece of Mind it's only about the middle for me. I don't think Alexander is anywhere near their best work but I find far more to like within the instrumental section alone than in Trooper.

Trooper, I never got the love for Alexander ... it is a good song, but middle of the Maiden road IMO.

It could be the NIT champ (NIT is a lower level tournament that runs in parallel with the NCAA March Madness tourney)
