Maiden US Tour 1982

That's what all the official biographies say, but we're being told recently not to believe them...

So that guy in the video who replaced Gers should be also considered part of the Maiden family too? :)

I thought Clive was generally going through a bad patch personally and couldn't keep up with the touring schedule.

Maybe this thread needs to be deleted since it’s been thoroughly debunked. It’s still showing up in Google under searches for Clive Burr. The truth is important.

What exactly has been debunked and where? Genuine question.

I haven't gone through both threads in full but my memory is that the reason that Clive was sacked was more his personality while fucked up rather than performance issues (maybe that's the debunking) but the main point being that the partying put a wedge between the band and Clive.

I terms of performance issues I don't think we can rule it out unless someone listens through every gig in the relevant time period. People have said that Clive is on point on the bootlegs they have heard but unless all gigs are available we can't say for sure that he didn't have some really catastrophic nights.

Personally I think it was low of the band to mention Clives partying issues the way they did. They could have used the old Musical Differences line and leave it to Clive to say more if he wished.

Although it's not up to me I wouldn't delete the thread. I think it gives a good time line of the thinking on the matter and the evidence presented.
