Maiden Tour 2014 (SPOILER TAGS REQUIRED WITHIN)

And especially as its a bloody brilliant setlist, with songs they'll never play again.

Bit of a piss take in my eyes. But hopefully that will make the show at Sonisphere even more special!

:)

How crazy would I be to hope for Maiden to give New Orleans, Louisiana a visit at the Voodoo Experience this fall? Voodoo has had KISS, Metallica, Ozzy, and Pearl Jam these past few years. They always seem to have a major metal act, and Maiden hasn't been down to New Orleans since '88 for the original 7th tour of a 7th tour! I had to drive to Houston Texas to see them in '12... Here's hoping!:D

Yes, that's true. Aerodrome Festival, Budapest Park: Irons, Rob Zombie and Megadeth. Czech Republic June the 17th so same...

Does anyone else think that the UK has been sort of neglected by the Maiden England tour?

1.Download Festival
2.Two shows at the O2
3. Sonisphere Festival.

It would've been nice to have some other shows at other places in the UK, like Birmingham, Manchester, or Glasgow.
Because I know that the shows that have been and will have been played for this tour are sort of exclusive. For one, festivals
aren't cheap so that cuts a large amount of people who want to go and see the show. And playing only two shows in London also
marginalizes the amount of people going to the show because a trip to London just for a concert puts a lot of people off mainly due to the cost.
(Although I made an exception to go and see Roger Waters perform The Wall at Wembley Stadium)

Anyway, I'm gonna try my best to go to Sonisphere at Knebworth this year and see the final show of the tour.
That's my two cents.
:)

To a certain extent I agree with you, although that is the problem with festivals and being booked there as an exclusive date.

Anyway, we can count ourselves lucky; other countries have not had a Maiden show.

Damn right, its an outrage. Cant believe they have got away with it, and no UK tour since 2011!! Even in the 90's we got a UK tour every 2 years, what happened to that?

Maiden are alternating between history tours and album tours and as they are playing less gigs tours extend over 2 (or in the case of Maiden England 3) calendar years. Whenever they tour an album they do a proper UK tour (the 2011 tour was their biggest UK tour ever in terms of tickets sold); in history tours they tend to play either festivals (Reading and Leeds, Download) or another big headline gig (Twickenham) plus the odd gig in London (Clive Burr MS Trust gig in 2005, the two O2 shows last year).

Don't get me wrong, I would love more extensive UK tours, but with the exception of 1999, Maiden have never stopped playing in their home turf since the reunion. :)

Finding myself in this thread awakens the faint hope of Maiden coming to a country near me. Damn, Finland is a big country, and the easiest to get to from Estonia!

Western France is suffering so many heavy winter storms these days that those summer gigs seem to be very far. You just made me realize this is not so distant.
