Maiden Tour 2014 (NO SPOILER TAGS, ENTER AT OWN RISK)

I know you'd have gone insane if you saw what I saw.
So now I've got to look for sanctuary from the law.
So give me sanctuary from the law and I'll be alright.
Just give me sanctuary from the law and love me tonight, tonight.

:p

God dammit, that's the worst possible closer. Shit changes. Last year's list was much better. Let's just hope they switch something again for the next show.

To think of all the songs they could have closed with.

Hallowed, Infinite Dreams, Running Free. And they chose Sanctuary.

Oh well, I'm happy with Revelations and Wrathchild being added. :)

So let's see....It goes:

Moon Child
Can I Play With Madness
The Prisoner
2 Minutes To Midnight
Revelations
The Trooper
The Number of The Beast
Phantom of The Opera
Run To The Hills
Wasted Years
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Wrathchild
Fear of The Dark
Iron Maiden

Aces High
The Evil That Men Do
Sanctuary

I hope they keep Afraid for the new album tour, at least. Still fucking pissed about Sanctuary, can't think of worse song they played in the reunion era.

Well, to be fair, it is very retrospective of their 80's era. We can't bash them on that.

I'm happy with the setlist (apart from Sanctuary), roll on Sonisphere!

:D

Yeah...It's still a good setlist, for sure...but it could also have been so much better :) but it's just so very Maiden to be so unadventurous when it comes to their setlists :D

It is a shame that they never dusted off some gems, this tour had a lot of potential.

But oh well. I'm grateful they didn't dump The Prisoner and Seventh Son.

:)

Exactly...A lot of wasted potential...The original 88-89' Maiden England tour was awesome in large part thanks to the awesome set! Die With Your Boots, Still Life, Killers...etc

Keeping the Prisoner is a win and yeah Seventh Son is the title piece of the whole thing....Also they kept Phantom of The Opera!

I just hope Maiden aren't turning into a novelty act, with the same songs, tour after tour.

Here's hoping on the next tour, there'll be some new stuff and some variety, not sticking with the Fear of the Number of the Iron Trooper.

Bleh. Pretty bad changes there.

Based on all the different setlists they've had over the last 8 years or so, I'd say it's probably not going to be too bad for a new album tour, but like other bands who have been around for a long time, there are certain overplayed classics that will never get dropped. And Iron Maiden will never ever get dropped since that's when they bring the big Eddie out.

Not too thrilled with the changes here...
Afraid to Revelations is ok, but Clairvoyant to Wrathchild? Seriously??
I thought they'd at least play Heaven Can Wait or Powerslave. Very surprised that they didn't make room for Hallowed. The opener could've been changed too. Oh well, I'm not gonna see a show so I don't really know why I'm complaining.

I'll say this though, madness gets moved down to #9. Run to the hills gets moved to #12 and Wrathchild goes to the #2 spot.

Clairvoyant is a much better song...Perhaps Maiden was looking for a track to kick things even more into gear in the set...just trying to change up the set list dynamics? We know that Wrathchild is excellent for energizing the crowd.

I'll take Sanctuary over Running Free at this point, have not heard that live in a while. Adding Revelations is cool, Wrathchild .. eh, can take it or leave it (not that I do not like the song, just it is not all that unique in recent setlists)
