Maiden supported by Avenged Sevenfold – New Feature & Thrash Hits

At Bercy, most of the crowd were indifferent to them when they hit the stage, some were cheering for them and rocking to their music. By the third or fourth song, the entire venue was booing.

That's pretty harsh.  What an asshole audience, if I may say it so directly.  The people are there for Maiden, but if they can't stand an hour of Avenged Sevenfold, they should just come there once they've stopped playing... <_<

I agree with you, it was a very unfair reaction. However, the argument "they should just come there once they've stopped playing" doesn't work, because people want to get a decent spot to stand in... especially for those with first to the barrier wristbands.

I know, and I'd come there early even if I had to listen to Metallica playing St. Anger ten times over before Maiden started.  But what these people don't realise is that even if they don't like the opener, it was Maiden (I think Bruce more accurately) who chose them.  The opener is endorsed by Maiden, it's not as if it's the evil new band trying to prevent the audience from seeing Maiden.

I don't really think it matters who picks/endorses them, if you don't like them you don't like them ( I do :D) but they could've been more polite and just ignore them.

Yeah, I'm a strong man behind my computer screen, and my opinions count because I'm a moderator of a message board. :P

I had a barrier wristband (as you know), but when I got in I was hungry so went for a couple of sandwiches, sat against the wall during Avenged Sevenfold and I fell asleep, waking up half-way through their last song. I then made my way to the second row, where I'd been standing before. So it's possible. :D

How did the crowd react to them last night?

Loosey: I told you not to show everyone that picture of me!

Can anyone tell me how long the bands take for their sets?  I'd guess Lauren and Avenged Sevenfold are both about half an hour and Maiden the full two, am I correct?
