I choose The Book of Souls. It has so many good songs, while A Matter of Life and Death is soooo depressing.

TBOS is one of my top 2 albums (the other is DOD) and the title track is my all time favourite song. So guess what I voted for...:). However, if it's going to lose against AMOLAD, I'm fine with it. All the reunion albums are winners for me.

I went with AMOLAD without half a second of thought. It is one of my two favorite Maiden albums depending on the day. I think TBOS is a good record - I only dislike NPFTD. However, if I could trim four songs (WTRRD, SotV, ToaC and TMoS) the album would be better off. The album in general is plodding, repetative and too many run of the mill sections compared to the reunion era in general. I still put it on in its entirety every now and then, but I only ever regularly revisit IESF and BoS.

The Book Of Souls is one of my least favourite reunion albums, I´d rate it as high (or low) as Dance Of Death.
Really great songs: If Eternity Should Fail, Death Or Glory and The Red And The Black and that's about it. I never understood the praise of The Book Of Souls title track either. Easy vote for AMOLAD.

Try this pal... everybody is different. My highs are your lows but we both still like Iron Maiden. So we should have something in common: The Red And The Black and IESF are two that I can see. :) I'm sure there's more if we dig...

This really is a case of to each his / her own. I've very much enjoyed these polls (thank you DB for posting them) but they have shown me that my favorite IM material is wildly different than the majority of fans. I'm more of a proggy guy than a true metal guy. So far my vote went for the eventual poll winner on only two occasions and both of those were round 1 albums (Iron Maiden and Final Frontier) that were subsequently drubbed in round 2.

The only remaining album even close to my top 5 was knocked out yesterday (Piece of Mind). My #1 favorite never changes however after that things fluctuate often (two years ago I was in a major DiAnno era phase). Here are my current top 5:

5. The Final Frontier
4. Dance of Death
3. Piece of Mind (this and Senjutsu swap places almost daily)
2. Senjutsu
1. Somewhere in Time

TBOS is a great album overall, with every song being at least solidly good. But AMOLAD is an excellent album overall, with half its tracks being excellent or near-perfect. AMOLAD is a modern classic, and my #3 Maiden album to date.

Everybody has a different way to view these albums. Once again the card comes up ……AMOLAD.

AMOLAD for me. Remarkably consistent album that surprisingly doesn't have any obvious "hits" and tends to get ignored overall in live sets. The outcome might've been different for me with a tighter, less patchy TBOS album with fewer songs on a single disc.
