Maiden singing Bruces' solo stuff?

Black Ace

Trooper
IT's no runour, it's just an idea. THink of how awesome Tears of The Dragon, Jerusalim, Silver Wings would sound with this extraordianry guittar trio, and Arry at bass, and Nicko. WOuldn't it be just grand? I know it won't hapen, but i'm entitled to dream [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

no way
Bruce's solo stuff is Bruce's own effort and has nothing to do with Maiden. It should - and it will - stay that way. And it's better that way

i think it would be great because MAIDEn are better musicians than those in BD band, to say the truth they’re the one of the best musicians in the world

just to mention that Adrian Smith and Roy Z are part of Bruce's band... don't know if Adrian will play on new album, but both of them are great musicians

Gotta agree with Freaky. Bruce made some albums on his own, some amazing albums, that compare with the best of Maiden. That should be Bruce's achievement.

What you might see, is something similar to what happened at Donington 92, or I think happened with Blaze once or twice...one of the Maiden band members being around where Bruce is playing, and joining in for a tune or two (probably Maiden numbers, but you never do know).

I know it won't happen and I agree, it's Bruces' credit, but hypoteticaly (not sure if i spelled that one right) think of the posibilities. How awesome would Silver Wings, or Tears of the Dragon with the best guitarists, and the the best bass-player ever? I know I will get alot of flaming from all you new fans out there, but you should face it. Maiden are great musicians, but definitely NOT the best ever.
I saw Bruce live two years ago with Chris Dale on bass, and he is technically alot better than Steve. Don't get me wrong, everyone out there knows that I'm obsessed with Steve's style, but it is technically not the hardest and most complex way.
You guys should start enjoying other bands and musicians, and not think of Maiden as gods, they're just human! Great songwriters, really good musicians, but not the BSET EVER & ALL UTHAZ SUXXORZ!!!!!11111

think about it and enjoy the Bruce solo stuff and realize that he's surrounded by great musicians there, not only when he's in Maiden.

Rant over

I don't think that Black Ace really wanted to say that they are the best of the best.
Anyway, for me, im not sure that maiden is my favourite band...

First of all, I know you're not talking about Adrian Smith that way. You couldn't possibly make a mistake of that magnitude! Oh Adrian Smith, forgive Freaky, he knows not what he does... [!--emo&:P--]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

On a more serious note - good musicians tend to rise to the level of technical proficiency required for the type of music they want to play. For instance, compare Les Claypool and Steve Harris. Does Les play more technically flashy basslines because he is somehow inherently better than Steve? No! He plays that way because he wants to, and he practiced long enough to be able to get that sound. If Steve wanted to play like Les, he would have to practice for a while to get his skills up to the same level, but given sufficient time he could do it. So could Freaky, myself, or any other good bass player you care to name. Maybe some players are faster learners and could reach a high level of technical proficiency faster, but "faster learners" and "better players" are two completely different things.

yeah, SMX, you're all right there, but after all that's basically what I said, too - ppl should go out and enjoy other musicians, as they're just as good as Maiden, because they're no more than humans, too (ok, except for Adrian, he's simply perfect, but hey, he was in Bruce's band, and that's what it is all about here [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--])
Then again, me saying that Chris is technically better didn't mean that Steve couldn't do it, he just doesnt. I prefer Steve's way of playin anyway. Although I adore Chris' style. Oh well, I should stop now [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Billy Sheean who plays for Steve Vai is the best bassist i've seen. He is very technical and fast but that would'nt fit into the Maiden sound but then again how do we know that Steve Harris can't play fast and flashy stuff. He might be able to but just doesn't want to change the Maiden sound......... You never know.

Anyway, About that Adrians Smith cult, ive got a friend in a band and when they play The Trooper many people say that hes better than Adrian Smith.... (Let the flaming begin..)

I just read the topic of the thread again:

[!--QuoteBegin--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--QuoteEBegin--]Maiden singing Bruces' solo stuff
and realized you guys have wandered far off. It's about them singing Brucie's solo stuff, not playing [!--emo&:P--]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

*imagines Chemical Wedding acapella*

Maiden playing bruces songs will only be good if they keep the same sound as they are on the albums. Bring me your daughter the soundtrack version and the maiden version are diffrent from one another. Maiden made the riffs faster. You cant do that with Book Of Thel.

I apolgise for my non musicalness

I see the people still don't get the point: I'm not saying that it'll happen, and I don't want to start a discusion about the absolute best musicians, I JUST want you to think of how awesome this would be. Hypotetically speaking, of course [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
