Maiden live from Abbey Road

Thanks Nush! Don't want to miss a chance of hearing Brighter Than a Thousand Suns live!

For those who can't download the video and want to listen to the songs anyway, I extracted them from Wheeze's video (thanks mate, the quality was awesome!); you can find them here.

I saw those on youtube on Mar 31, and I must say that BTATS was freakin' amazing. Adrian's solo in particular was spectacular. (Insert obligatory Church of H remark about "everything H does is spectacular" here.) HBTN was also very good, but didn't seem quite as outstanding to me. Maybe that's because I've seen HBTN live a few times, but not BTATS. Memo to Maiden: Bring the AMOLAD tour to the US already!

I was in Denver, where I live. Maiden didn't play here. Maiden only played a few shows in a few cities in the US - none of them anywhere near Denver. Maybe you have the money and freedom to travel across the continent for a concert, but I don't. :P

Fair enough, though they DID tour the U.S., and I would be surprised if they tour more extensively here in support of this album.  I live in L.A., which they visited, though I probably wouldn't have flown to Denver for a concert if the shoe were on the other foot, whether or not I had the freedom to do so.  I'd say something snide like "move to a real city," but of course you have a decent football team and we have no team at all.

Back on topic: I noticed Bruce was doing vocal exercises DURING instrumental parts of the songs, yet I've never noticed him doing it in concert (maybe when he disappears off stage).  Has anyone else noticed him doing this?  Or, did he simply fail to warm up before the Abbey Road taping?  His voice sounded pretty good.

I did see him sing the words to 'Hallowed' to himself during the instrumental parts early in the song at Earl's Court.

This didn't look like excercising. More like getting his breath back. I think he had a bit of a cold, it was near the end of the 2006 tour. Also is head was more red than I've ever seen.

Forostar thanks for the YT links....
Really nice versions and the guys seem very relaxed and having fun while doing what they do best.

I'd say he's just clearing his throat/running through the lines so he doesn't screw them up.  It would seem a bit strange to sing the lines out loud twice, so I think he just does them quietly (with the mic away, of course) to make sure his throat is ready for the assault it takes during the verses... :P

That's exactly what he is doing.
