I've seen in this spanish fan site: http://www.euskalnet.net/driano/maiden.htm some interesting information about this showdate (24/5/81). It says they played 2 shows this day in the Sun Plaza, could someone confirm this and talk a little more about it? It would be nice to know which show they recorded for Maiden Japan or if it is a mix of both shows, I don't know...
 
I have this EP, the back says:

"All tracks recorded live at the Kosei Nenkin Hall Nagoya, on May 23 1981."

So I don't know about them playing 2 shows in one day, but this was the day before anyway, and a different venue.
 
Yes, they did play two gigs on that night in Tokyo, but Maiden Japan was recorded during neither. All the recordings come from the night before in Nagoya, on 23.05.1981, as Mosh pointed out.
 
Didn't they repeat songs in the set like "Running Free" and "Prowler"? I think it was what occurred instead of a second show.
