My dad and I say this all the time. I hate to whine about it since I've been lucky enough to see my favorite bands on their own respective tours, but I just wish we could have at least one annual festival full of great bands. Not popular bands like Slipknot or Five Finger Death Punch, but GREAT bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Motorhead, Alice Cooper, etc.

You can't tell me that there isn't a big enough metal market here in the US. It may not be as big as the one in Europe, but there are certainly enough metalheads here to allow for a successful festival to take place.

If there was a concert like that anywhere in the world, it would be worth going to. And sod the costs.
