The fire will be started, I'll have the Leatherwolf CD I finally got in the mail playing and will have a couple 22s of Double Bastard Ale chilling in the cooler for you.

That's OK man, there will always be more fire, more music, more arrows and more beer. Head down here for my birthday; it's in May.... the weather's better.

I've often thought about buying a firearm.  It'd be nice to learn how to use one, and nice to go hunting once in awhile if I wanted to.
 
You should go ahead with that LC, I am of the mind that it is great to have at least one for home protection (although I doubt you have severe problems with that up there). Learning how to handle one and subsequently, to hunt, is not difficult at all.
 
Canadians rarely keep firearms for home protection, and if I did ever own a gun, I doubt I'd own ammunition for it.  I don't think a hunting rifle is of any use in home defense, anyway.

When I see a gun, I see a tool, the same as I see a knife.  Both are dangerous tools, murderous tools in the wrong hands.  And it's important to know how to use tools.

I do have strong opinions on gun regulation and control, though.
 
I'm glad you're in an area where a pistol is impractical to own LC. They are fun for target shooting as well though. What is it that you have gained an interest in hunting exactly?

Not sure about deer.My most amazing culinary experience was last year.My wife and I were celebrating her birthday in our local indian restaurant, as usual the food and service were great, when all of a sudden 4 uniformed immigration officers burst in supported by the police.The waiters scattered, 1crashed through a window, and a cook still wearing his chefs hat and apron jumped over the table next to ours and tried to escape through the front door.

Its been closed for 4 months, pity because it was excellent, but at least on the night I got a free meal!

I had a sneak at them and some of the original Satriani vids - I'm still not overly convinced yet. But I may yet turn.
