Woke up? Shit, I'm just getting ready for bed. You must live in some kind of strange time zone where black is white, up is down, and monkeys drive all the buses.

If you are online then, I'll chat you up

I don't know does it mean the same over your side of the world, but over here, to chat someone up means to try to get off with them, therefore making your previous post hilarious to me.

Well, glad to give you some laughs.  :D Not my intention, tho-- just 'chatting in the chat room'.  I will choose my statements carefully

Isn't that Bizaro land?  And I thought monkeys were a higher form of evolution, so that sounds like a good place to get a bus ride.

Monkeys are an equivalent form of evolution, except for their brains.

I just remember SMX wanting a tail like a monkey so he can strum with it...

@Deano, you are always at the party!!

That's right, I am! Official promotion party today in 1 hour!!! Marine Corps tradition dictates that the promotee has to spend the difference in the monthly amount incurred for the promotion raise on the party. Sooooo, everyone gets the first $350 on me. If this were Europe, that would amount to 1 beer each.  :D

Apparently, I say strange things while in a trance sometimes ... because I have no recollection of having said that.

Although it does sound like a grand idea!
If Shakespeare had written "Pulp Fiction" ....

J: Your pardon; did I break thy concentration?
Continue! Ah, but now thy tongue is still.
Allow me then to offer a response.
Describe Marsellus Wallace to me, pray.
B: What?
J: What country dost thou hail from?
B: What?
J: Thou sayest thou dost hail from distant What?
I know but naught of thy fair country What.
What language speak they in the land of What?
B: What?
J: English, base knave, dost thou speak it?
B: Aye!
J: Then hearken to my words and answer them!
  Describe to me Marsellus Wallace!
B: What?
JULES presses his knife to BRETT's throat
J: Speak 'What' again! Thou cur, cry 'What' again!
I dare thee utter 'What' again but once!
I dare thee twice and spit upon thy name!
Now, paint for me a portraiture in words,
If thou hast any in thy head but 'What',
  Of Marsellus Wallace!
B: He is dark.
J: Aye, and what more?
B: His head is shaven bald.
J: Hath he the semblance of a harlot?
B: What?
JULES strikes and BRETT cries out
J: Hath he the semblance of a harlot?
B: Nay!
J: Then why didst thou attempt to bed him thus?
B: I did not!
J: Aye, thou didst! O, aye, thou didst!
Thou sought to rape him like a chattel whore!
And sooth, Lord Wallace is displeased to bed
With aught but Lady Wallace, whom he wed.

Tho, this really seems like a 3 party country with two parties.
It does seem odd to us that the US only seems to give the voter two options - Democrat or Republican. Is this really the case, or is there other options that we don't get to hear about?

But then again, it may seem a bit of an overload for us Brits when we go to the polls and have to choose one of, sometimes, dozens of different parties - only to have one of two parties ever getting into power.

There are usually 8 to 10 presidential candidates on the ballot. The three best-known minor parties are:
1. Libertarian ... long-established minor party, full of mental cases.
2. Green ... famous for letting Nader screw up the 2000 election.
3. Reform ... founded by Ross Perot for his 1992 candidacy, but has self-destructed since then.

These three plus the Dems and Repulicvnts are usually the only ones to get on the ballot in all 50 states, although the Reform Party is fading so fast I doubt they'll get into every state this year.

The ballot is a state-by-state affair in the US ... minor parties have to collect signatures on a petition to get on it. In Colorado, I think the magic number is 50,000 signatures. That's one of the biggest hurdles for any minor-party candidate trying to win the White House: the party needs a nationwide reach to get on the ballots of enough states to even put up a fight.

The most unintentionally humorous minor party:
The Temperance Party, fighting to bring back prohibition of alcohol. Don't ask me how, but this party has survived since prohibition was revoked.

In New York, you also see the Liberal and Conservative Parties.  However, the Liberals traditionally nominate the Democrat nominee, and the Conservative Party traditionally nominates the Republican nominee.

Just a little interesting tidbit.

There are a lot of parties in the U.S, I think the socialist one is still around too. Like in Mexico. Mexico has at least 9 that win at the local levels, but presidential races end up being dominated by "The Big Three" PRI, PAN and PRD. Can't really say what the PRI stands for, but the PAN are rich conservatives, business oriented. The PRD is a party formed in the 80's by PRI dissenters, but have become the party of "The People," supposedly populist, many say they are just a watered down version of the PRI. I say, "Meh."
