Yesterday was a nice day... i was out on the road all over yesterday.  Today its gonna rain like hell.

Wow!! congradulations!!!  What does that make you now? or is it so top secret that they don't even have a name for it...?

Nope, no secret here. I'm now a Gunnery Sergeant (which is an E-7). Pretty high up there. Thank you for your congratulations, I kind of wish it was like the old days when you got promoted, everybody you know of higher rank could essentially beat the shit out of you. Now that's considered hazing and is a no-no. Oh well.

Thoughts on Richmond this Saturday?

Ha, thats funny, and cool for you!!!  That is a pretty nice rank to have attained!!

As far as Richmond.... Denny Hamlin is on my drivers list for fantasy racing.  Along with Burton, JP Montoya and Vickers....

(watch Jr win this one-- haha)

Well here lies the conundrum in our betting.... who should be favored?

Richmond is the last race Jr. won, though 2 years ago....

This is Denny's home track; he is going to want to show very good here....

Of course, this is Richmond which throws a huge X factor in, wrecks can you catch you up easy here.

I have always loved these races and not just because I'm from there. It's a totally unique track and racing at night just kicks ass. It's always very exciting.

Yeah, I really love short track racing!!!

Denny will run well there, all the Gibbs and Hendrick cars will, prob RCR as well.  JP prob isn't a good pick, cause he'll piss some one off and get spun.

Watch some one like Bobby Labonte win it!  :D

I wouldn't mind seeing Bobby Labonte win, Petty Enterprises needs it desperately.

I am fairly certain JP will end up in a wreck (let's say cause one). Someone is eventually going to kick his ass; I really thought it was going to be Harvick last year.

I'd love to see Petty doing well!!  I would love to see them be the dodge team that Roush is for ford.

That was great, when they were grabbing each other by the helmet-- what, watkins glen, I think?

OH, yeah!!  Short tracks rock, in general!

Thats gonna be a great day, we are having a big 'get together'-- grilling and drinking cold beer... Will be good fun!!!

Haha, yet another great aspect of Saturday night racing, being able to party hard and not worry about the next day......  :yey:

Amen!!

Tho, my youngest daughter is doing 'first comunion' on Sunday.  8am mass, so I have to be able to wake up for that.

NO, that would be bad.  Its all good. My mom and dad are coming up to help me work on my kitchen and watch the race, we'll make it in time!!!

hows the new house purchase going?

My bro just sold his house at Ft Bragg.

I have yet to hear back from the bank on if they are going to accept my offer (it's a short sale, which is essentially a foreclosure). I'm having them drop the price and am asking for them to pay 100% of closing costs. I think this could happen; it IS a buyers market..... which brings me to my concern for your brother, that sucks he had to sell his house in this market. I hope he didn't take a hit, although I know the Fayetteville area will ALWAYS have at least some market for housing.

He got really lucky!  He got his asking price, and he paid the closing costs.  But he did it without a realator, so saved the 6+% fees.  He came out ahead of what he paid, so I'd call that good.

And, yes, this would be a good time to be buying-- especially the forclosure part!  I had been thinking of selling and moving across the state line, but its easier to just fix and keep for right now.

Good luck with that! I'll be thinking of your house when I'm drinking some ice cold Paulaner this weekend.  I'll send you some to celebrate when you move in!
