Jr. should be favored at Talladega but the Gibbs cars are looking good on the super speedways too. Denny all the way!

What sort of strange language are you speaking?

Ah, you are trying to decipher the oft mis-understood American dialect of NASCARese.  Those of us that understand it speak it so fluently that we forget that there may be someone there that just cant understand it.  And, unfortunatley, bable fish don't seem to translate this.

As many of my Harley-Davidson riding friends say, 'If ya hafta ask, you wouldn't understand'

OH, and Jr. does rock on the superspeedways!!!!! Hendrick power will rock the house this weekend!!!!  I can taste the Paulaner now!!

(loose translation:  Dale Earnhardt, Jr, a star in stock-car racing, has the ability to drive at specific race tracks better than most.  When the speeds are in excess of 185 mph, he will most certainly have the edge over all other drivers.  When he wins, I will be drinking a fine imported German beer, with a smile on my face.)

A short while ago, I posed a question in the Random Trivia thread asking for the location of Elvis' one and only visit to the UK - that being Prestwick Airport 30 odd miles South of Glasgow.

It seems this was not his only visit - he also visited London for a day to see his "good friend" Tommy Steele. This has come from the words of both Steele and (during an interview on a BBC radio station) Bill Kenwright the theatre impresario. Details here.

How the hell did the most famous man on the planet at the time, wonder about a busy city like London unnoticed?

Amazing.

Yeeee Haaaaahhh!!!

I saw Dean inside so......

Yes Sir, I am here.  :)

Sorry to hear you won't be in Paris. I will have my computer set up there and can reach you and find out some good places to go. I will mostly be working but I think they'll let me out of my cage for at least a couple of hours a day.
Great go up by the way.

Deal! Is the endeavor you are engaged in now something you can talk about or is it hush hush? If the latter, I fully understand. In the next 7 years, I expect I will be able to come to Europe at least 7 times but I have no idea where in the Olde World that may be at this time.

I can talk, for the moment I don't want to talk for supersticious reasons,
it's nothing secret generaly

but I think I will prefer to tell it via pm and not publish it with a post like this  :ninja:

ps : I'll be in Greece for weekend, so I guess you know what I'll do thinking of you  ;)

sorry, I've got to go now, it's been great to chat (even if it was for a little bit  :() with you

keep me informed about Paris  ;)

True.  Ok, here is my first ever run-in with anyone from Canada.

I was working at a Motorcycle/Sea-Doo dealership, and this guy showed up with a load of Sea-Doos.  Its 8:30 am, and the guy says "Got any coffee, eh?"
I said, sorry, no.
So he says, "Oh, got any beer then?"  He was serious.  The guy was great.  I am thinking from Quebec.
So, I'm listening to a rock station over the internet (cause they don't play anything harder that simon and garfunkle here) and I heard Jackyl!!

I haven't heard that over the radio in forever!

Yeah, gotta love the Canadians. When I first moved to Tampa I had to take my car in to get the brakes replaced. It was around 9 in the morning on a Tuesday. I was sitting in the waiting room with a couple of guys that were falling down drunk and actually had a couple of beers that they were drinking right there in the waiting room. After about 30 minutes, the desk clerk called them up, settled the bill, gave them their keys and off they went. I was amazed.

Nothing to do with Canada I don't think, I belive they were just standard Florida rednecks but who knows?

I am laughing hard at my desk over that one!!!!

I have had some mornings like that.. it was easier to stay drunk than sober up....

Oh most definitely. The thing that blew my mind was that the Midas guys handed them their keys and let them drive off like that. I was thinking to myself, I am in the right city for sure!  :yey:
