And you may be suprised-- it may be a while off, but many of these bands are resiliant (sp?).  
 
14's a good age, my son is 4. He will be going to shows with me in the not too distant future though.

My quick Hockey story. I never liked it, then I moved to Tampa the year before they won the Stanley Cup. That year, tickets were handed out like crazy for free admission to their games. I have all of their autographs. The following year, Tampa had Hockey fever to say the least. Watching them win the cup while living there was very cool. Then the strike, I moved and haven't watched a whole game since.

I've watched baseball.  I'm kinda over that one.  And the hockey one didn't bother me either, I was more bummed out over the 'fire sale' in St Louis at the time the season started again.

Unfortunately for me, but good for him, they were in pretty worn out shape.  They went through a pretty rough time with my ex-wife, I saved them from the trash more than once.

@Deano, drag about hockey.  It bit me at the age of 18, and I've enjoyed it ever since.  PS-- I don't know if I asked you this, but have you seen those 4-5 litre 'kegs' that Heiniken sells?  I saw a Paulaner one at my local grocery store!

My son is not born, yet.  :P

So my band will be 60 at least IF the father-son concert ever happens (for one of my bands at least).  There are guys still touring in their 60s mind you.

What is it with women and wanting to throw out old clothes?  I get constant pains from the women in my life about this.  At least I don't wear them outside, much.

Right now water.  But I plan on making myself some taquila sunrise. I've got OJ, grenadine and of course taquila.  I was going to offer it to my father, but he is more of a beer kind of guy.  (Well so am I most of the time).

I hear you on the ages.  And definately hear you on the clothes!!!  I usually try to be good about wearing stuff in public, also... tho, I did wear my Seventh Son t under my tux at my wedding... hhmmmm-- dunno if I would suggest that.

I had to go into rehab when I was 16. At this point I had every Iron Maiden poster, in perfect condition, up to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (minus Run to the Hills and Running Free). When I got out a month later, I found out my step father had burned all of them. I still have not recovered.
 
Dude, that is horrid!!!  I have nothing to say to that, other than I am so sorry to hear that!

Somehow, my ex got rid of all my wall tapestries and posters.  I had "Stranger in a Strange Land" and "Seventh Son", as well as Rush's "2112" wall tapestries-- man, I miss those.-- but that doesn't even come close to what happened to you!
 
Yeah, I wouldn't try shipping alcohol over state lines. I know that store but we don't have them here. I am now, however, on a mission. I will find this mini keg.
 
Good for you!  I just saw it yesterday, and I didn't buy it... I think I am going to get it for next weekend!!!

You just don't know. I had spent so much time and effort on that collection. This was before the internet too, I had traveled to a lot of places and had to order through numerous catalogs to get a lot of those posters. That is for sure, the biggest non-physical pain I have ever felt.

Serves me right for going to the mini-bar to make my tequila, which I just realized I've mispelt.  Heh!  One can't drink and spell at the same time. 

That sucks that your stuff was burnt or thrown out.
