Yep!!  One nice thing about being your own boss, you can take longer lunches!  Its almost 30 minutes to the closest eating establishment, unless I wanted greasy nasty bar food in a smoke filed environment-- thats great for the weekends, but not for lunch with a pretty girl!

Oh, BTW, I checked in here before checking my work emails.... :innocent:
 
Ahhhh, such dedication!

....but late weekend evenings in a smoke filled bar with a pretty girl.... that leads to some great times! <<sigh>>
 
Yes, well, that is true!  I am always looking forward to some of those!!!

I work in IA, and you can smoke almost anywhere here-- however, I live in IL, and there is no smoking in buildings at all there, now. 
 
Ha!  ^That made me snort out loud! ^ 

I work right outside of a town that has a 'corn festival' each year-- people get together to eat sweet corn, watch bands and drink mass quantities of St Louis brewed beer. 
 
I need to go to IA sometime then. I don't think I've ever consumed mass quantities of corn and beer in the same sitting.

Yeah, that would be great. Chicago's a great town and I halfway know my way around it. I think it's about 13 hours from here but I'm up for a road trip.

We're shooting for 2000 posts in here by years end, I think we'll get that easy.

IowaHouse Says Thank You for Not Smoking

             Legislation that would ban smoking in most public places in Iowahas passed the Iowa House of Representatives.  Attempts by bar and restaurant owners to be exempt from the ban – a concession won by the state s casinos – were turned back.  Even farmers could not exempt their tractor cabs from the ban.  This legislation now goes to the Iowa Senate where a local option ban has had past support.

Are there still a lot of smokers in IA? The US as a whole is getting really anal about this. Most other places I've been in the world allow smoking pretty freely. The worst was CA. You could not smoke anywhere there and they were way too expensive anyway.

There seem to be a lot-- but I am in a pretty rural area, and I don't like to stereo type, but it seems like there is more of that in these rural areas (IMO)
