Let's try and get 1,000,000 replies to this post

I've just prepared the set list for my band's jam session tonight. Among the bands we'll be covering are: Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Deep Purple, UFO, The Who and Judas Priest.

But before you start thinking that we're some kind of hard rock band, I should warn you that we'll also be covering: Men At Work, The Bangles, Duran Duran and Huey Lewis & The News.

And before you start thinking that we're some kind of 80s nostalgia band, I should warn you that we'll be covering groups from the 90s too: The Stone Roses, Jane's Addiction, Pearl Jam and Temple Of The Dog.

However, before you start thinking that we're just a cover band, I should warn you that we'll also be playing some of our own songs, including the legendary "This Is My Fish".

However, the (potentially) most interesting bit of all this is that I've got a new recording device, and (for the first time ever) I should be able to obtain high-quality, well-mixed recordings of what Supergenius really sounds like.

So, if you ask me nicely, in a few days I may be able to post our stunning renditions of "Highway Star", "Bastille Day", "Hellion / Electric Eye" or even a song called "Remember Tomorrow" by some obscure English weirdos.

And if you don't ask me nicely, you get our version of "Hungry Like The Wolf". :P

OK, Raven, you can join in on the fun  :P

Sounds great, SMX! How long has your band been together? If my hubby and I decide to go back to Denver in the future maybe we'll see a show  :ok:
he's currently in a band in PGH, but the guitar players are average at best. He met up with a guy last week who has his own recording studio at his house, and he's looking to start a band with him.

FUCKITY FUCK FUCK MOTHERFUCKING GODDAM FUCK FUCK.

My drummer just called and cancelled tonight's jam session.

FUCK.

While the three of us have known each other since January 1985, we didn't start playing together until May 1986. We played together until the summer after high school graduation (last gig June 1989). We then went our separate ways for a decade - me to the East Coast, the guitarist to the West Coast and the drummer to England - but by 1999 we had all moved back to Denver and resumed jamming in May 2000. Since then, we've jammed about 12 times a year on average.

You can't see a show; we don't play live. Our various schedules don't permit more than a jam session in my basement a couple of times per month. However, visitors are always welcome to my basement if they wish to witness Supergenius in action.

Thought I'd come help reach that golden target of 100,000 although I think (as I thought a long, long time ago) that its rather an optimistic target...........
One day the target will be reached. Perhaps not in our lifetimes, but nevertheless this thread will get its 100,000th reply.

And it will probably be Yax's great grandson that will post it. :D

Well until that day we must do our upmost to keep posting until our fingers are frail and made of parsnips or something like that

He who inflames canines! I thought you were dead!

Nah, he shows up every 2 or 3 months, makes about 5 posts, then disappears again.

Or in other words...

He's the phantom of the opera, he's the devil, he's just out to scare.

I was thinking the same thing when I posted that. I'm gonna make a concerted effort to post here a little bit more lol sounds a bit vague but I can't promise anything you know!

Oh and about these accusations I'm the devil, completely unfounded, out to scare yes, but devil no. Chal

EDIT: Hi Lucy, I did die but came back, as a polar bear

Allow me to regress to a topic which is now (approximately) one month old:

Now playing: "Song For America", by Kansas.

In case anybody else is interested in Kansas, check out my Kansas Family Tree.

Note: the quote above is no longer accurate, as I am now listening to "To Be Alive (Hep Yadda)" by Yes, from the album The Ladder.

The next family tree I'm working on is a Power Metal family tree - starting with the history of Helloween and seeing where that leads. Here's a sample of what I've got so far...

Also, song has changed. Now listening to "Mississippi" by Sheryl Crow from her album The Globe Sessions (song written by Bob Dylan).
