I don't think British or American people eat anything other than foreign food. Well apart from some Scottish people actually eating haggis and maybe Yorkshiremen eating Yorkshire Pudding I can't think of any prominent examples.

They could, but they don't! Although I did have it when I went to Canada, but not in a Chippy, some place called Joey's. It was also quite surprising to me to see it listed as 'Chips'.
