Lengths of songs on next album?

Because Hallowed be thy Name is obviously a nice, breezy song

If anything I see this album as a second SiT, Maidens biggest most successful tours were World Slavery and SBIT (I think). Also a 2 year break was almost unprecedented back in the 80's (gap between PS and SiT) as is the 4 years between AMoLaD and TFF.

I absolutely see your point too, but I would like another classic album like NOTB mainly because it would just be great to see them really get recognized for the awesome stuff they've been putting out lately, and because there are usually some great deeper tracks on those type of albums too (think Total Eclipse,  To Tame A LAnd, Rime of the A.M.)

Yes, but a song like those will never get popular among the public.  Even many metal fans don't really appreciate those kinds of tracks, it's often the Fear-Beast-Trooper axis and the like.

I'd say most metal fans appreciate songs like Rime and Hallowed.

On another forum I visit they have a 'Metal Thread' which is almost all about various black/death metal bands so I generally stay away but I occasionally see regular members of it post about how awesome Rime/Hallowed is in other music threads (best song with a story/most atmospheric song/etc).

Nowadays every bands seems to be taking forever to put out an album. From old bands to new bands. For example, it took AC/DC 8 years to follow up Stiff Upper Lip, and Airbourne took two years to make a follow up to their FIRST album. I mean, how can you tour for two years with only one album to draw on?

I'm gonna have to disagree. Rainmaker has a pretty boring chorus that's very repetitive and Out of the Silent Planet is repetitive as well (although I like the song, especially the verses).

I could really care less if they play Run to teh Hills anymore though because Bruce sings it with no feeling at all these days. I feel like he's been phoning that one in for a while now.

Those were examples of tracks on a "hit" album that are for the hardcore fans. I'm saying ideally, the next album should have a hit or two and then some nice deeper tracks for the hardcore fans, in my opinion.
