lead guitar credits

Ahhh, there we go --a little bit of explanation; all I was looking for. Although, my dear Forostar (;)), I feel you are making the case on behave of others somewhat. Still, very much your own points, I've no doubt; I know you like many (in your mind) overlooked/underappreciated aspects of TXF, while openly acknowledging it's failings. Taking that to one side, yes, I agree generally with what you said. I've never really had any great problems with the production/mix of TXF; there's some nice stuff, as you say, going on. It's actually more about really being able to listen to that rhythm part though (a point you allude to), rather than the lead part; I don't really have a problem picking out the lead sound. However, a part of me still likes to think that "solos" shouldn't be viewed as this other part; tagged on so to speak. (When you here them talking about recording, it really is a tagged on part mind you.) I don't want them to be too isolated sounding. The opposite is that whole blended sound to something like SiT, which is undeniably great sounding though. 'bocker's point taken too --with three, it can sound like a real cram. DoD, for example, is awful. Just sounds like one big guitar part sometimes.
