L.A. Show

Is anyone else going to the show in L.A.?  I'm fairly sure Char_Da_Har will be going -- anyone else?  Please respond if you'd like to at least meet and shake hands, and maybe enjoy a beer together, before the show starts.

Also, I was fortunate to win the First to the Barrier draw, which entitles me to bring a friend to the front, but I am going alone.  [Yes, I do have friends, but the only one who remotely appreciates Iron Maiden just moved to Hawaii; my wife hates Iron Maiden and refuses to go; and there is absolutely no way I am taking my young son to the barrier.]  If you or someone you know already has a floor ticket and is also flying solo, and you want to join me at the front, let me know.  I am not requesting, and will not accept, compensation for this.  Since Char was kind enough to PM me pre-sale codes (unsolicited) when the tickets were made available, I'll give her first dibs.  Otherwise, the first (if any) to accept the offer gets it -- I'll go by the time stamp on the reply messages and/or PMs.  Bear in mind that it will no doubt require you to show up early.

Lest anyone think I am not conscious of how sad it is for me to be offering inducements to be my "friend" at the concert, I submit this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=owev_Iw1kQw.  Enjoy.

No, but you're the only one to respond so far, so its yours if you can get to Los Angeles.  Aren't you about as far away from LA as one can get in North America?

My roommate is one of the true fans.  He has almost every bootleg , japanese etc. album ever.  He even as the original laser disc video.  Anyways we are staying at the Westin downtown, thinking of getting a limo to the show if we had a group to go with.  We are 38,39 years old with the drive of kids and cant wait to see the show!!!  Let me know if you want to hang with us.

I promise not to give any spoilers.

The show was amazing last night!  It was very loud and my ears are still ringing today.  I can't believe how many IM fans were there.  I only saw people wearing Maiden shirts.  I swear I did not see any other shirts from other bands worn by anyone there.  Amazing!  The place was sold out and every seat was filled.  Even the nosebleeders were taken. (now that's fan admiration)  One of the things I liked best is that everyone stood up for the entire show and sang to every song.  The whole place was lit up like fire.  One of the best shows I've seen so far.

So here is the crazy part.  The guy who was sitting to left of me, looked just like---Thousand_suns.  I was freaking out!  You don't think it could of been him?  I swear it looked just like him!!!!  Thank god Maiden was to the right of me, so I didn't have to look at him that much.  BTW his English was not very good.  He was kind of drunk and he bumped into me and almost knocked me down.  I was cool about it and as he tried to say he was sorry, I just kind of hugged him and said "It's all right man, rock on my brother" but that's about all the contact I had with him.  Of all people to run into.........go figure.

Don't even joke about that.

Or, as he'd say:

Yes, I think that the seeing of me would be a strange occurance.  Fortunately, it did not.  Occuring like this would be random and I am happily confined to Malaysia.  How bad that it is good.

I miss him...  :halo:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

That's the best today... This week. Heck, even this month.  :D

Cna anyone give me a heads up on what the LA tickets cost? I am going to hopefully see them in San Antonio or Houston (or both) if the price is right. Haven't seen them since Somewhere on Tour in my high school days....I bet Bruce and the gang are wondering where the heck I've been,.......

Try Ticketmaster.  Tickets for the L.A. show on this leg were $67, plus a host of Ticketmaster charges that drove the price up to over $80.  Still, a small price to pay for this:

That's me in the gray shirt in the left center of the photo, on the rail, just to the right of the photographer wearing the black jacket.  And yes, this entire post was an excuse to gloat.  The concert was insane.

Presumably the ticket prices will be similar for the U.S. dates later this spring, but you never know.

Awesome.

Normally I don't post one word posts in real threads.  But that's awesome.
