Hey guys, long time Iron Maiden fan here, and going to see them on October 13th!! Cant wait, but got a question to all guitarists here.

Ive been playing guitar for a few years now, and Iron Maiden is definately one of the most fun bands to play, however i just cant figure out how to play that one riff from Killers. Im sorry if its been discussed here, but if you dont know what im talking about its that slide which harmonics are being played. Ive read tabs but there really isnt an easy way to describe how it is being played. I do have the Early Days dvd, i tried watching them play it but even then the camera wasnt really focused onto dave or adrian at the time. Im not sure which one but the one that wasnt doing the slide was playing something low down on the B and E strings as the other was doing the slide, sorry if im being confusing but its really tough to explain what it is. Can someone please describe how its being done or at least direct me to somewhere which could explain more? Thanks

hey buddy,
What Dave does is very simple really....Ive been playing guitar for many many years and I wouldn't have known it if I hadn't seen MaidenEngland. He basically lightly touches the open A string , say around the 2nd fret, and gradually moves up the neck while picking in a triplet feel.......very good effect!
Hope I helped,
Chris

It's a harmonic slide.  Do triplets of harmonics moving from second fret to the fifth fret, from the 7th to the 9th fret, and then slide down from the twelfth fret.  That's how I do it at least... and it sounds sweet.

Thanks guys, actually does sound pretty good. I was originally trying it changing strings which didnt work out too well but this sounds great, Thanks again :)

Sorry, I forgot to add that you're supposed to do it on the A string (5th string).
