:yey: I absolutely love their last 2 albums and can't wait to hear some new stuff! :edmetal:

Also, I'm willing to bet that this is material for after they retire and they won't be performing any of it on their farewell tour next year.

Saw it on Ultimate guitar earlier, I knew you'd love to post that so I saved it for ya.

Yeah, that's great news. I just hope they'll come to Israel for the final time.

Geeee, thanks Mega! :) And I really hope they come your way as well! I saw them back in 2005 and they were AMAZING! My only complaint was that the sound could have been MUCH louder, but it was good enough to hear them good and they put on such an incredible performance that it didn't matter too much. :D

I think that they will record the album before the tour (that should start on 05. June 2011), and then tour until they retire, like Scorpions.

this news just made my day. Have a praise Travis. Lets just hope they don't take the try and recapture the old days like scorpions did.

You mean Sting In The Tail? I love that album. I'd rather a band try and keep the main sound they've always had instead of trying too much new stuff. Even with Maiden's last 4 albums, you can still hear a lot of their classic sound they've always had. That's why I hate the Scorpions album Eye 2 Eye so much because they went for a totally different sound on there and it was horrible. So, just because a band tries to capture some of their old sound, doesn't mean it'll be bad. I'm sure JP won't disappoint. They rarely have done that though.

The reason I don't like Sting is because it was too much going back that it was cliche. I'd like something in a musical straight line from Retribution from Priest.
It's new but it still has that classic sound. Same with maiden. Listen to Humanity Hour 1. Sting in the Tail is a huge step backward from that and I like it better when bands move forward.

Ya, I guess for their last album ever, they really wanted to have that old sound. I just love the ballads as usual though. No one can sing 'em like Klaus!

I don't understand this band anymore. We're both getting old I guess.

LOL, I thought this too.
But hey, don't complain! :D At least they are writing more stuff instead of just touring then quitting.

It seems that I was wrong.
Tipton says:
As you may already be aware, PRIEST have announced a fair well world tour beginning this summer. We are all excited about the tour and are currently having meetings to discuss the stage production, but above all the set list. We intend to include some classic PRIEST songs that we haven't played before and of course the old favorites that everybody will want to hear. To put everyone's mind at rest, this is by no means the end of the band. In fact, we are presently writing new material, but we do intend this to be the last major world tour.

Strange, in lots of recent interviews Halford talks about "retirement", "farewell", "quiting" and stuff. Maybe Judas Priest will continue without him?

I imagine that lots of people would like Maiden to do the same. But alas, they'll go out with a big bang, stopping all activities at once. That's what Steve stated in several intrerviews.

I could imagine this situation: Iron Maiden finish the set of the last gig on tour, and then Steve takes the microphone and says "By the way, this is our last show ever. Goodbye everybody!" :)

Link? I don't think i've ever seen an interview of him saying that.

Oh yea;  :funnypost:

I wish this had been announced before Maiden mentioned next year's tour dates then they might have toured together. That would have been INSANE! It was amazing enough seeing Maiden, Queensryche, and Halford solo back in 2000!
