Janick and Adrian

Hi,

Do Jannick and Adrian get along ? As far as I know, they haven't composed songs together, they play at the opposite end of the stage and don't interract a lot on stage. We never see them together in interviews or pictures.
I bet they don't hate each other since they've been in the same band for more than 10 years but I just find this strange...
 
Well, I didn't want to say anything, but you've forced my hand. The truth is... that... Janick and Adrian are one and the same and if they even within 4 feet of each other they might spontaneously combust. So... you see, it is in their contracts to not even smile at each other for fear that Adrian's Awesomeness might disintegrate Janick for staring at such holy visage.

I don't think H is allowed near anyone, audience included.. as he is always stood at the back as far away from the audience as he can be.
That said, wasn't one of his reasons for leaving Maiden back before NPFTD because he wanted to just get out of the business and relax.. he didn't originally want to form a new band and ASAP/Psycho Motel was an unintended project that got kinda pushed (from what I've read? No idea of the truth behind it).

Counter-question: Do Bruce/Steve get on? You rarely seem them together and I seem to recall at the end of RiR when Bruce puts his arm around Steve, Steve looks less than excited by it. Even going back to the 80's the happiest interaction I've seen from the two is that mimed german TV thing.

Hmm, this might be true. For the rest: I have seen some interaction (mostly Janick teasing/making fun of H), and Dave and Adrian also don't compose together, nor do Dave and Janick.
 
that could by great idea to make song Adrian+Janick + Steve/Bruce
when they are playing intro riff to The Evil That Men Do they are standing face to face  :shred:
 
Isn't there an interview somewhere where they are asked why theres no joint guitarist compositions and they said "If we tried to write together we'd just end up jamming".

I think so. Blues jam to be precise.
 
Besides, in some interviews you can hear/read how them two tweak around guitar sounds in studio, etc. And the one where H says they can talk for hours about various things (in context of Janick being smart and educated guy).
 
Even if they don't co-write songs --they all have to sit together & work out the guitar parts for every single song Maiden do. Do you think when Bruce writes a song he lays down all those guitar harmonies? Piddle. They write together, tour together, live in each others pockets while on tour. To be honest the idea that any of them fundamentally don't get on with each other just isn't credible.

So, yes, I think they get on fine.  :D
 
I think they like each other, but there's just other things to do onstage than do silly stuff. If they didn't enjoy playing together, the'd quit, because money is not the matter for them any more.

Faith No More HATED each other... HATED. The Gallagher bros (Oasis) HATED each other, yet managed to work together. So the fact that Maiden tours and writes together is of no proof as to how well they get along.

Yes, but Oasis (as you cite) notoriously & publicly fell-out all the time --hence why you know the Gallagher brothers didn't/don't get on. Where is the evidence, other than the odd "look at Adrian, he doesn't look happy" rubbish, that any particular members of Maiden really don't get on? My point is, if there is very little to suggest they don't get on (--is there?; I haven't watched reels of Maiden documentaries/interviews, so maybe there are loads of hidden hints), in all likelihood --they get on.

I know people like to speculate, but that's all it is. A far more positive (and frankly likely) scenario is that several of the members really really get on. A better question would be: what do you think Janick & Adrian, when they're in each others company, talk about, besides Maiden & guitar playing? But, again, since nobody here knows any of the band, this too would be mere speculation...

You're right, there is no way of knowing except through that. Just because people don't air their dirty laundry doesn't mean their tighty whiteys ain't got skid marks like everybody else's :D
