We were thinking about a Wordpress front page. XenForo offers some Wordpress integration plugins. I'd also want to research a wiki plugin - iirc wiki is fairly easy to export as they are self-hosted.
 
Good idea, wordpress can be also managed by non-technical people.
 
If you go wiki, I would self host it and stick with "official" plugins .. if you go that route, it because not too technical, but it has more and IMO better options than Wordpress ... that siad, it has been a few years since I looked at WP, so it may be more functional now
