Alexander the Great and Starblind should be in the Top 10. And if there's a Blaze song to make the Top 10, it's Sign of the Cross, not The Clansman.

I'll never understand many things. But a couple of things I really don't understand is the speed at which The Trooper and Wasted Years get booted out of these survivors and how much love there is for Paschendale. To be honest, I like Prodigal Son (soon to be RIP) better than Paschendale.

Lots of people has Paschendale on their Top 10 lists. (So do I, fifth place) Apart from its great, powerful and progressive musicality, it has fantastic lyrics.

Both The Trooper and Wasted Years are overplayed, they simply lose their edge after some time because there isn't really a progressiveness in both of the songs. Cool, fast, short rocker songs, but nothing else. Trooper has been one of my favorite Maiden songs for a long long time and now stands at 60th place or something. The only song that made the Top 10 last year in that position was Aces High and it doesn't deserve being anywhere near the Top 10 in my case. I like long songs with a lot of ideas better, feels like a true composition.

I agree completely (though I prefer Paschendale over Prodigal Son). I noticed a lot of posts saying something like:
The Trooper: "Good song, but since it's so short, it doesn't deserve more than 7/10".
Which is ridiculous IMO.

Wasted Years isn't overplayed - according to Forostar's list - since its release, Maiden did 18 tours, and Wasted Years was played on only 6 of them.

I respect your opinion, but mine is completely different :P

By saying overplayed, I mean all. Not just the "playing" the band does, hearing the song more and more and more. It's one of band's most popular songs and it's really a basic song, after a lot of listens to it, there's nothing to be amazed about. My opinion though, I like the song but Top 10 ? Hell no.

Now it starts to get interesting. Let's be honest: the results so far are not a surprise. Will things change this year?

The Trooper has never made it far, for such a "signature" Maiden song. Can it get promoted this year?

The first two Survivors had the same result at this point: everyone piles on Quest For Fire and Sun And Steel. The latter I agree, but I call upon all QFF fans to save it for at least one round this time! Great groove, and I love that intro riff. You can't tell me that chorus hook isn't great too.

Instead of death to QFF, I propose we aim at Wrathchild (promote Murders and Killers).
