Am I the only one who does not see much special in Out Of The Silent Planet? It's a good song, but seriously ... 7 votes for Alexander and only my vote for Planet?

Votes for ATG is one of the biggest blasphemies I've ever seen in this forum. I can't believe what I'm seeing. It's the best song on the list for fuck's sake.

I don't agree. Musically it's superb, but the  lyrics seem like they were pulled directly off a cue card of "Generic Praise for Alexander the Great", or a 5th grade history recitation, and the verses just don't seem well-written.

The intro to Silent is excellent, and it's a very powerful vocal performance from Bruce IMO. The Trooper, which is endangered here, is a clearly superior song to both of them, also IMO.

I agree with that. But its music is so magical and powerful that I forget about the lyrics for that one. Alexander the Great has one of the best instrumental sections in Rock/Metal history, it is one of the best examples of drum&bass harmony and the melodies are so magical. Even if the lyrics are bad, the melodies actually talk about a legend without words, just sounds.

Besides that, I don't see any point of voting for ATG here. It hell not is one of the worst three of the list. (even if you don't love this piece, you can't deny its quality) Let's say that you want to promote the songs from Somewhere in Time, it's also a wrong strategy because there will be 3 SIT songs remaining even if ATG gets eliminated. I think majority votes for ATG are to save Trooper but why did ATG got so many votes that it turned out to be a solution of Trooper's elimination possibility ? You see, that's why I hate that kind of strategies, for me, you got to vote off the three worst songs on the list no matter what. I quit Priest Survivor just because of that, people wanted Tyrant and The Ripper to be promoted and eliminated Dreamer Deceiver in the process, Dreamer Deceiver wasn't anywhere close to being one of the three worst songs of that list.

I also want to see To Tame a Land and Still Life to be promoted from Piece of Mind, but I don't vote for Trooper because there are worse songs remaining.

To Tame a Land, in my opinion, is more deep and hard hitting then the Trooper. Now the Trooper is an awesome song but not as good as To Tame a Land.
