Helllo, fellow metal fans!  I hope this is the right forum for this.  I don't see a FOR SALE board...  THAT'S BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE ONE.

I am selling 8 Iron Maiden longboxes on eBay this week. I have also listed a bunch of longboxes from Metallica, Slayer, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Anthrax, etc...

Just like vintage t-shirts, CD longboxes have become RED HOT.  I wish I had more of these!

If you are a collector from outside the domestic USA and are interested in these, please contact me directly on eBay.  I normally prefer not to ship overseas but these items are getting a lot of interest from around the world.  I guess the rest of the world still appreciates good metal!

Good luck bidding.

Lonboxes are the original packaging that the CDs used to come in until about 1993.  They stopped using them because they were considered a waste and bad for the environment.  Of course, most people tore into the box and threw it away so to find any is a big deal.  If you have good bands and titles that are SEALED, that is an even bigger deal.

Take a look on eBay to see what some of them were going for, for the bigger bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer.

They were definitely used in the USA, not sure about the rest of the world though.

Your ebay site indicates that the CDs are still included in the longboxes, and that violates our policy: NO SALES OF OFFICIAL MERCHANDISE.

Thread locked, link removed, and the original poster had better be more careful in the future.
Allow me to clarify:

Sales of longbox packages for collectors are acceptable on this forum, as long as the CD isn't being sold with it.

Selling the CD in any kind of packaging, long or otherwise, is absolutely forbidden.

My look at the original poster's ebay site indicated that he is selling CDs with the longboxes. If I am somehow wrong, he is invited to appeal to me by private message with an explanation of why I might be wrong.
One more thing for pilau and others who don't know about longboxes... their origin, or why did they ever exist?

It wasn't until 1989 that record stores stopped carrying most vinyl, and it took until about 1992 or 1993 for all the record chains to go all-CD.
So all these stores had a bunch of CDs to sell, and a bunch of shelves built for vinyl-size packages.

Thus the longbox, making the CD package 12" tall like a vinyl record, so they fit on the shelves better.
