Iron Maiden in the strangest places

For the French viewers ;)
- Les Nuls (a French comedy troup) "La série américaine" (here)
- Les Démons de Jésus, a film directed by Bernie Bonvoisin (Trust's lead singer), featuring the intro and pre-solo from "The Prisoner" (here)

Yesterday evening, after a sweaty hot day, I took a refreshing shower and all of a sudden I heard the Fear Of The Dark intro! My mom was watching a tv show where couples buy a house they´ve never seen before. (Don´t know if the format is known in other countries)
Apparently the song was used in that show.

Maybe it was a house on 22 Acacia Avenue...
I'm not sure we want to read about you being naked within your mother's earshot. :D

I've not seen the Bone Temple because the 28 Days films generally make me want to throw up, but my other half saw it last night and said the NOTB scene was spectacular!

One character pretty much doing a one man Maiden show, with full pyros. Steve was in the end credits of the film.

I think the 28 Years Later stuff needs its own thread. The Iron Maiden connection shows up in every review I read. Will this be the thing that fills the stadiums next summer? Is Rod friends with Danny Boyle? :)

Yeah it put me off eating the rest of my food in parts. Not one with sensitive stomaches

It worked very well in Bone Temple! bit funny and I had a massive grin on my face. As it happened I was wearing a SiT t shirt. Some fantastic Needle drops in the film in general
I'd encourage everyone to see it if you can stomach the gore. It's the best film in the series in my opinion and as you pointed out, has some great needle drops. Maiden being the highlight.

Not the strangest place, but a little surprising. I've been listening to Jerry Cantrell's I Want Blood album recently, the intro of the song Off The Rails sounded pretty familiar...

I wondered if it was just coincidence, I wasn't sure Jerry would be much of a Maiden fan, but apparently he is!

The intro for Off The Rails almost has a cheeky nod to Iron Maiden's Wasted Years. Can you hear it?

"Fuck yeah, dude! I’m a huge fan of Iron Maiden. I wanted Alice to be a guitar duo band precisely because of bands like that. And we kind of are, now, since William DuVall joined. Earlier on, Layne would pick up a guitar and play a little bit, but we were mostly just a three-piece with a singer. Now we actually have two guys playing a lot of guitar, so I got my wish!

“But when we initially talked about starting a band, I wanted another guitar player and that was purely because of Dave Murray and Adrian Smith. Or the guys from Priest or Aerosmith. I love the Young brothers [Angus and Malcolm, of AC/DC fame]. There’s something special about bands with two guitar players working as a unit.

“And you’re right, I hear Iron Maiden in that intro for Off The Rails. I’m immediately drawn to those flavours, just because I love that band. It’s cool to hear your influences coming out organically, because you don’t sit down and intend to do anything. It just happens and you can tell that it’s in there.”
Jerry's musical taste is top notch. And curiously enough, Jerry's support guitar player used to be one his best friends in the musical business: none other than the great Chris DeGarmo.

It just occurred to me that the alpha zombie being called Samson is probably a complete coincidence but I thought it was funny.
