Hello friends fans of the best band of the world. I'm Brazilian fan and my english is not perfect.
I have one great preoccupation:
Existed two bands called Iron Maiden before of the famous Iron Maiden.
The famous Iron Maiden can loss the name one day?
I know, Steve Harris Registered the name in 1976, but the Iron Maiden of Essex registered the name before of famous Iron Maiden?? (This band released one single in 1970)
For the English law (of the seventies and now), two bands can register one equal name?
In England, when one band go register the name, this band know, in the place of the register, if exist other band of equal name???
The name Iron Maiden appurtenance only to the famous Iron Maiden for eternity?
In 1998, the Iron Maiden of essex released one album (maiden voyage) with the name Iron Maiden. Rod Smallwood maked somewat about this album?
My friends, Please, answer my questions. I be worried.

Right.

There have been three British bands with the name 'Iron Maiden':
1. The band you're talking about, a proto-doom metal band from the 60's.
2. The 'Bolton' Iron Maiden, as can be found on the Commentary[/i]
3. Our most famous and beloved of bands, Iron 'Fucking' Maiden.

Now, the Iron Maiden you're discussing folded in the early to mid 1970s (according to [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Maiden_%28doom_band%29]Wikipedia
...maybe someone could back me up?

The Bolton Iron Maiden folded in 1976, when Ian Boulton-Smith of the band died of cancer.

Therefore, by the time Steve Harris began Maiden, the other two bands were on the way out.  There is an anecdote in the Early Days DVD where Steve got an anonymous call from someone claiming he 'couldn't use the name', but seriously; if Steve had been breaking some legality by registering the name, it would have come to light before now.  Besides, I'm not sure if the other bands ever did register their names...they didn't have a very productive career before they were forced to call it quits, anyway....

I hope this has answered your question.

No shit, really?
I give you kudos for trying, but wow, man...that post beats some of the best Engrish I've seen.

As for your point, if I understand you correctly, I don't think there's anything to worry about. This would have already been an issue in the 1980's if the original Iron Maiden bands actually cared.

Yeah, I don't think the name should be a problem for Iron Maiden, otherwise there would have been a big stink about it before now.

Plus when all this happened I believe none of the bands were famous. Now that our beloved Iron Maiden is HUGE around the world, people won't touch the name just out of respect, not to mention avoiding legal entanglements

they've been around awhile, so if it were to happen it would have happened before, I wouldn't really be worried if I was you  :)
