I have been come to believe that the original bandname of Iron Maiden was... Iron Coffin...

somebody tell me more and tell me if i'm wrong [!--emo&--]/huh.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'huh.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

The original name of Iron Maiden? Well, Steve Harris was in the band Gypsy's Kiss, and his first band was called Smiler...but Maiden's always been Maiden.

Wasn't there a thread that stated Steve had four names for the band with very strong leanings towards Iron Maiden and when he suggested it to his mother she said that definately was the winner? Oh Iron Coffin wasn't one of them

Apparently, Steve really liked 'Influence' and came up with a logo. Don't know the other ones though. [!--emo&^_^--]/happy.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'happy.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Gypsies Kiss mutated to Maiden... Of course there were so many line-up changes in those years until they finally settled on Murray and Stratton, but it was still Maiden, and the earliest songs were written by those who, except Steve, wouldn't perform it later!

Yes, an iron maiden it is. It was used during the middle ages. It was a box with spilkes in it.

The topic has already been discussed in [a href=\'http://forum.maidenfans.com/index.php?showtopic=4812\' target=\'_blank\']another thread[/a]... [!--emo&<_<--]/dry.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'dry.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
