Well the headliner for Donnington for previous few years has also headlined "Download Ireland" which is basically Donnington, with less acts (but including the headliner) and taking place in one afternoon. Although I highly doubt that Maiden would come here a second time in less than a year, I certainly hope that it is the case.

As you say, extremely doubtful.  I expect that Maiden will just play their Donington date and then pack up and go home for a well-deserved rest (I presume the Donington Date is looking like the last date of this 'micro-tour'?).  But. there's always hope... :innocent:

I'm betting my arse that the two other shows will be at Donington and somewhere in Germany. It's

Some guy at Blabbermouth mentioned a date in Beograd the day before the show in Greece.

My guess is that these shows is only at places they havent played for a while.
:)

I see someone's mensioning Beograd- that would be a dream come true for me and many others.

Anyway there is some talk going on about a new festival, called Bikefest I think. It should take place in Zrenjanin(a city in Vojvodina- region of Serbia) in june 2007, and the performers would include Maiden, Motorhead, Alice Cooper... it seems naive but I even visited a website where they talked about ticket reservations for the event. We had some big names coming to Belgrade recently like Metallica and 50 cent, so there is hope I hope.  ;)

I'm betting my arse because that's what Bruce said during the tour. In Dortmund, he announced an open air gig in Germany next Summer, and in London, he said "Donington".

Do we think they're going to be doing Download or a separate show beforehand? The last.fm page makes it sound like they're booked, along with a heap of other bands. But the presence of Cliff Richard and "Your Mum" gives me reason to doubt the credibility of that source.

You really trust a Wiki event page over the band's site?

This is written underneath the band list:

"No artists have been confirmed - all artists listed here are based on pure speculation."

And as for me, I generally don't trust Wikis.

From ironmaiden.com

Iron Maiden have confirmed that they will be playing a headline show in Athens on Sunday March 11th 2007 as part of a short run of dates in mid March which include Dubai Desert Rock Festival and two more shows soon to be announced on ironmaiden.com.

From what I understand will Maiden play Dubai and Greece + 2 more shows in marsh. I dont think there will be any open air gigs in Europe this year at all.
 But one can only hope right. :innocent:

In an instance such as, when nothing has been said about Maiden playing Download, I agree.  Wikis can be very helpful, though.

From the horse's mouth (Paraphrased):
"We will play an open-air gig in Germany next summer" --Bruce at Dortmund
"Donington, my lord, is not bad" --Bruce at Earl's Court

Why do I fucking have to repeat myself all the time?

You dont have to repeat yourself. It´s just that I dont think it will happen this summer. But I hope you prove me wrong.

1989
1994
1997

Those were the years without Maiden concerts :-)
Seems they don't want to add 2007 to this short list ;)

If Maiden plays Germany this year, I'm thinking about going ! Quite a travel, perhaps, but it might be worth it !

Although Maiden did not play a live set in 1989, they did play one song together, "The Trooper", live at the Astoria (London) that year, in front of Bruce's crowd (1989 was their famous "year off"). They did this as part of the encore and it was the first time the "No Prayer"/"Fear of the Dark" lineup had ever played to a paying audience (Janick was already in Bruce's band for that tour).

I spoke of this in the chatroom last night, as I was on my way to see that gig but opted to see my mum on her birthday instead.

Wasn't this 1990 ? I am 99% sure of it. Always thought that Bruce toured only in 1990, not earlier.

By the way, it seems not possible since Adrian left the band in 1990.

Here the dates when he played in London:

TATTOOED MILLIONAIRE TOUR 1990
European tour 1990:
Support act: Jagged edge(?)

June 27 London, UK Astoria Theatre
June 28 London, UK Astoria Theatre

What's the birthday of your mother? June 27th or June 28th?

 And so I stand corrected. My mothers birthday is the 27th. (I've also just checked the sleeve notes on my "Dive, Dive, Dive" CD that states it was 1990 also [it has a couple of live tracks from the show]). I just assumed it was 1989 for some reason.

No prob :)
Could you have gone to the other Bruce date (28th?) ;)

If memory serves me right (and that has been called into question a few times ;)), I may well have been working that night. At the time, I used to work as a grill chef and worked 5 nights per week, so the most likely answer is no.
