How is that important? Unless you're a complete and total moron (which seems quite likely, given the quality of your post), you'd figure it out the Maidenfans is a FAN site (go figure!). Fan sites are not endorsed, by definition. Were it endorsed, it'd be called the Official Maidenfans Site, or something to that effect.

Yeah, it's true. Although I'd like to think that if the band ever surfed through here, they'd realize we're much better fans than those prats at the IMBB.
 
I suspect that the members of Iron Maiden have better things to do than evaluate fansites and grant endorsements.

I've read complaints (inexplicably posted here) that moderation on the official BB is lax, to the point of allowing racist posts. I also know that when I signed up for the IMBB a couple months ago to reply to one specific thread, it took them over a week to activate my membership ... by which time the topic I was interested in had died. If that's how an "official" BB is run, then I'm happy to stick around here.
 
I talked to that guy in the chatroom last night. He thinks he is Bruce Dickinson.

Lately, many here at maidenfans.com has stated that "we" are better than "them". We are closing ourselves in from the rest of the world because we are the best. We don't need others than ourselves, because the others are less intelligent, simple minded, primitive.... This is starting to remind me of the behaviour of a certain country west of the atlantic, but that discussion belongs to another thread [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
 
I personally dont try to make claims that "we" are better than "them". I just try to keep this forum friendly and welcoming to ALL fans whether this is the only forum they visit or whether they visit the official forum too. I've made no secret that I think the official forum is overflowing with trolls but I sure as hell wouldnt want to deal with the number of members that forum has. Dont think this place would be much better if that were the case.
Nobody here wants or needs or claims to have endorsement by Iron Maiden. If you thought so please let us know how you became misled

You got it wrong I'm afraid. I was not pointing at any spesific persons (definently not on you), it was merely a small rant about the general opinion that most people here have of those at the official board. To be honest, I agree with most of it, but it seems to me that everyone is using every single opportunity to express their opinions about the 'lost souls' of the official board.

Oh, well. I have no real opinion of the official BB, since I only read a few threads there and thought they were somewhat simplistic.

To which threads are you refering? The ones which state political/social opinions which differ from your own? Surely you aren't so insecure in your beliefs that a dissenting point of view makes you so uncomfortable that you assume the person holding said belief is of a lower mental capicity.
As for my previous post on this thread, I brought it down to a level the submitter could understand.

Charlotte, the first part of my post was refering to your statement and I wanted to express that I agreed. The rest of my post not ment directly to you in any way, but I should probably have made that clearer.

Duke, it was intended as a kind of a joke (notice the ' [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--] ' in the end), refering to the threads and post you have made while drunk i.e. Probably should have made that clearer aswell. The intentions had nothing to do with opinions at all. I have got full respect for all opinions (as long as I get to have my own).


I now retire to my bed to insure myself that I will not post things that will make me look like a fool again.... until tomorrow.
