I'm a DJ!

Onhell

Infinite Dreamer
Just thought I might share what for me is really cool news. I'm co-hosting the Metal show at my University's radio station which is every tuesday from 10pm-12am. I don't know how many more I'm going to co-host (tonight will be my second time) before I get my very own slot. The show is mainly new underground Metal (mostly death) and it is awesome awesome stuff. The Regular Dj always closes the show with maiden (which kicks ass of course). My show will be the opposite playing the lighter spectrum of metal (speed and power) and I should know by next week when that will be. So if you get a chance, on Tuesdays from 10pm-12am tune in to [a href=\'http://kamp.arizona.edu/\' target=\'_blank\']KAMP Radio[/a].

Oh man. You should check out this band for your radio show....elevenfiftyeight. wow. Some really cool stuff.

Thanks man! I'll definately look them up. My apologies: The show is 10pm-12am MOUNTAIN TIME. I'm in Arizona and I believe that is the time zone which it falls under. Arizona does not have daylight savings time schedule (I think it is the only state). Important info and sorry for not posting it.

yeah, so I'm really lazy. What would that be in relation to GMT? [!--emo&:P--]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

well, it is three hours difference from Eastern time (U.S east coast) so, 10 Pm here is 1 AM ET, which should be 7 8 am in Europe? That is not taking daylight savings time into acount because that REALLY screws things up.

Daylight Saving Time is in the summer, so during winter, it's not an issue. You just have to check timezones (like on your Windows/MacOS clock).

Cheers

well, I finally got my own show! It will be every saturday night from 10PM-12am mountain time. I be playing mostly melodic, symphonic, power, progresive metal to balance out the other metal shows which are death, hardcore and black metal. Woohoo! the only problem is I still don't know what to name my show lol. But something will come.

Hehe, Camp Radio [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

LOL, no way. I was thinking medieval meets metal... like my Dj name: "Innocent X" [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--] Innocent III (my favorite pope, don't ask why) + Symphony X = well Innocent X. So I I'm trying to do the same thing for the show name but not really working...

Awesome!

Talking of DJing, I'm a spoof drum 'n' bass/mashup DJ under the name of 'White Apollo's New Kingdom.' (go work that one out) I've made at least ten CDs of material so far...

Well it is finally official! I start tomorrow (saturday) night from 10-midnight mountain time.... like 5-7 am in western europe i think. The online link is on the first post of this thread (yes i'm that lazy as to not post it again). My show is Piano Forte: The Lighter Side of the Metal Spectrum. And my dj name will be Innocent X.
I'll be playing helloween, therion, sonata arctica and hammerfall to name a few. Tune in!

Sounds like a couple of morons have hijacked the radio station and won't let Onhell do his show. Seems they think their "sports talk" idiocy is too important. While I normally wouldn't advocate violence, I think Onhell needs to find creative uses for a baseball bat right about now.

LOL you know you are listening to college radio when a dude with the emotional development of a 12 year old is a DJ... he is probably Michael Jackson's "best Friend" I had a good show anyway... it was cool, I'll get the scheduling fixed during the week.

THANKS FOR TUNING IN!

OK last post, I SWEAR. So as you can see from SMX's post I did have a shaky first show, but thanks to a friend that shall remain nameless, and a staff meeting I won't have anymore problems and it should be smooth sailing from here on out.

I'm gonna level with you dogigniter, you are not missing much [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--], the studio library is severly lacking in power/melodic metal so most stuff i'm playing is old (1-5 years old) but I HAVE to play (radio rules ugh) new stuff so I'm playing death/black stuff which I don't mind, but rather have new Power metal. So far only the New Hammerfall, which rocks by the way, and the US release of Apocalyptica's Reflections (about time!).

I'm surprised that they have any at all. I figured you were bringing in your own CDs in the first place.
