If you had to make a 2-CD greatest hits (with some surprises) album. What would it be?

Prowler

Ancient Mariner
Greatest hits albums are boring and too predictable most of the time. Of course the hits have to be there, but imo some deeper cuts should be included in a "greatest hits" album, so that a new listener understands exactly what to expect from a band. I tried to include songs from as many albums as possible. I left out No Prayer, FF and BOS, because I wanted to include a Blaze song or two. The only real hits that missed out are 2MTM, CIPWM and Daughter.

Disc 1:
1. Iron Maiden
2. Running Free
3. Phantom of the Opera
4. Wrathchild
5. Killers
6. The Number of the Beast
7. Run to the Hills
8. Hallowed be thy Name
9. Revelations
10. Flight of Icarus
11. The Trooper
12. Aces High
13. Powerslave
14. Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Disc 2:
1. Wasted Years
2. Stranger in a Strange Land
3. The Evil that Men Do
4. The Clairvoyant
5. Fear of the Dark
6. The Sign of the Cross
7. Futureal
8. The Wicker Man
9. Ghost of the Navigator
10. Dance of Death
11. The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
12. Hell on Earth

So what's yours?

Two is too few. I would throw in another one. Hell, 21 of those 26 tracks you listed are before this side of the millennia.

2 is too few, indeed. I think it's fair that most of the songs are from the 80s, because compilation albums are for new listeners to get to know an artist. Also, the reunion era has many long songs and it was difficult to include many of them.
*I'd also make it a 3CD, at least, but best of albums are 1-2CDs most of the time.
